국문 초록

본 연구는 한국어 음운인식과 음소인식, 그리고 음운처리능력에 대한 정확한 개념을 탐색하고 정리하였다. 한국어 음운인식은 학령기 및 성인기의 난독현상지원과 기초학력지원 법제화되면서 관심을 받아왔다. 또한 이주배경 학습자가 급증하면서 이들의 음운인식교수필요성에 대해서도 논의되고 있다. 그러나 학교를 비롯한 교육현장에서 음운인식의 개념과 발달, 그리고 교수방법에 대한 정확한 이해는 아직까지 요원하여 다수의 교사나 교육제공자들이 혼동된 개념을 사용하고, 교수법에서도 개념적 오해로 인한 비체계성이 종 관찰되곤 한다. 본 연구는 한국어 음운인식 및 이와 관련된 개념을 정확한 예시와 함께 제시하여 교육종사자들의 정확한 이해를 돕고자 서술되었다. 더불어 교육현장에서 교수학습을 계획하고 제공할 때에 유의해야 할 부분들도 논하였다. 아직까지 다양한 학습자를 대상으로 한 한국어 음운인식 발달연구 그리고 교수법연구에 대한 연구들이 필요함을 논하면서 주요 연구과제들에 대해서도 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study organized the precise concepts of Korean phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, and phonological processing ability. Korean phonological awareness has been receiving attention since the revisioon of education law in 2016 to support students with dyslexia and low basic academic abilities. In addition, the necessity of teaching phonological awareness for multicultural background learners has been discussed as the number of learners has increased rapidly. However, the level understandings around the concept, development, and teaching methods of phonological awareness in educational settings is far from sufficient. Many teachers use confusing concepts, and their phonological awareness teaching practices often ambiguous due to the conceptual misunderstandings. This study was written to help educators understand Korean phonological awareness and related concepts accurately by presenting precise examples. In addition, the author discussed the needs for research on the development of Korean phonological awareness and teaching methods targeting various learners.
