치매에 대한 지식, 태도, 노인부양의식 간 상관관계 연구: 부산 지역 대학생을 중심으로

국문 초록

목적 : 본 연구는 대학생들의 치매에 대한 지식 태도, 노인부양의식 간의 상관관계를 알아보고 차후 노인세대를 부양할 청년세대의 치매에 대한 인식개선 및 교육프로그램을 위한 기초연구로 활용되고자 한다. 연구방법 : 부산 지역 대학교 재학생을 대상으로 연구목적 및 방법에 대해서 충분히 설명을 듣고 동의한 383명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 설문 방법은 종이 설문지를 이용하여 2개 대학교 각 학과 학생들에게 배포하여 수집하였다. 연구에 사용된 설문지는 선행논문을 참고하여 수정 및 보완하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS ver.25를 사용하여 기술통계 및 pearson의 상관계수를 산출하였다. 연구결과 : 대상자들의 치매에 대한 지식은 16점 만점에 8.65점, 치매에 대한 태도는 5점 만점에 평균 3.99점으로 나타났다. 노인부양의식은 5점 만점에 3.91점이었으며, 치매에 대한 지식 총점, 태도 총점과 노인부양의식은 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타나 치매지식이 높을수록, 또한 치매에 대한 태도가 긍정적일수록 노인부양의식이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 결론 : 본 연구결과를 종합해 볼 때, 치매에 대한 지식, 태도가 높을수록 노인부양의식이 높은 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 볼 때, 앞으로 미래의 부양 예비세대인 대학생을 대상으로 치매에 대한 많은 교육과 홍보 및 인식개선을 위한 다양한 활동이 필요할 것으로 사료된다. 추후 연구에서는 지역의 확대, 생산인구를 대상으로 한 연구대상 연령의 범위의 확대가 필요할 것으로 여겨진다.

영문 초록

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlations between the knowledge of dementia, attitudes toward dementia, and awareness of support for the elderly among university students. Methods : A survey was conducted on 383 students at K University and D University in Busan. Each student received a full explanation of the study’s purpose and methods and agreed to participate. A paper-based questionnaire was distributed to the students in each department of the two universities and their completed questionnaires were collected. The questionnaire used here was revised and improved with reference to previous papers and consisted of 56 questions: 12 questions on the participants’ general characteristics, 16 questions on the knowledge of dementia, 10 questions on attitudes toward dementia, and 18 questions on awareness of support for the elderly. The collected data from the survey were organized and analyzed. Results : The participants’ knowledge of dementia showed a relatively high score at 8.65 out of 16 points. Their attitudes toward dementia also scored relatively highly, at 3.99 out of 5 points. Thier awareness of support for the elderly also scored relatively highly, at 3.91 out of 5 points. The subjects’ knowledge of dementia, attitudes toward dementia, and awareness of support for the elderly exhibited positive correlations with one another. Conclusion : Based on a comprehensive review of the study findings, a higher level of knowledge of dementia or attitudes toward dementia led to a correspondingly higher awareness of support for the elderly. This result indicates a need for various activities to provide sufficient education about dementia and to enhance awareness of dementia among university students as they present the generation that will support the elderly in the future. More comprehensive research involving dementia-related occupational groups and university majors will be useful in the future.
