한국구비문학회 30년, 현대적 활용의 성과와 과제 -문화콘텐츠와 다문화 논의를 중심으로

국문 초록

본고에서는 『한국인의 삶과 구비문학』에 실린 문화콘텐츠 논저 5편과 『구비문학연구』 제1집부터 제69집까지(1994년~2023년) 수록된 문화콘텐츠 논저 14편과 다문화논저 16편 등 35편을 분석하고 과제를 제시했다. 초기 문화콘텐츠 연구는 구비문학의 현대적 활용의 당위성과 방법론 정착을 위한 주요 논점 중심으로 진행되었다. 이후 서사적 고정 관념, 신화적 세계관, 남녀 성장 서사, 전형적 서사 전개가 콘텐츠 활용에 적용되는 양상을 밝힌 점이 주요 성과라 할 수 있다. 앞으로 구비문학 연구와 문화콘텐츠의 연결은 중요한 탐구 지점이 될 수 있다.이에 본고에서는 구비문학 연구의 이론·개념·보편성에 대한 탐구, 아카이브 작업을 통한 교육자료 개발, 생애주기별 자료, 도서관 프로그램, 지역 축제 등의 콘텐츠화 단계를 제시했다. 초기 다문화 연구는 구비문학 내의 다양한 문화적 교직 양상에 주목했다. 2017년 이후에는 『다문화 구비문학 대계』를 중심으로 이주민 구술 설화 연구가 활기를 띠고 있다. 구비문학이 추구하는 인간 중심의 공동체 정신은 오늘날 우리가 추구하는 ‘인간이 인간으로서의 보편적 권리를 향유하고, 각각의 특수한 삶의 방식을 존중하며 공존할 수 있는’ 다문화의 정신과 상통한다. 구비문학은 인간적인 삶, 인간의 존엄이 존중되는 삶의 방식을 지향하는 다문화주의 연구에서 매력적인 대상이다. 본고에서는 자민족중심주의(ethnocsntrism)를 벗어나 상호문화적 이해에 적합한 자료로서 한국적 특징을 보여주는 작품, 다문화주의가 추구하는 상호문화성을 보여줄 수 있는 구비문학 자료 연구의 필요성에 대해 논했다. 또한 한국 구비문학에 내재되어 있는 타자에 대한 예의, 존중, 그리고 공감을 통해 공존의 의미가 다문화주의 논의에 중요한 대안이 될 수 있다는 점을 강조했다.

영문 초록

In this paper, 35 cultural content articles included in Life and Oral Literature of Koreans, and 14 cultural content articles and 16 multicultural studies included in Oral Literature Research Vol. 1 to Vol. 69 (1994-2023) were analyzed. The early cultural contents research was carried out focused on the justification for the modern use of oral literature and the main issues for the settlement of the methodology. Since then, the main achievement has been to reveal how narrative stereotypes, mythical worldviews, male and female growth narratives, and typical narrative development are applied to content utilization. In this paper, what has been presented is the steps and methods of researchers, who are forming in-depth knowledge of oral literature theory and each piece, for carrying out content creation work. In addition, the necessity of spreading various genres such as proverbs, riddles, experiences, and life stories was raised. Early multicultural studies focused on various aspects of cultural intersection within oral literature. After 2017, research on the oral narratives of migrants is gaining momentum, centering on the『Comprehensive Synopsis of Multicultural Oral Literature(다문화 구비문학대계)』. In this paper, we discussed the necessity of researching oral literature materials that can show Korean characteristics and the interculturality pursued by multiculturalism as materials suitable for cross-cultural understanding beyond ethnocentrism. In addition, it was emphasized that the meaning of coexistence through courtesy, respect, and empathy for others inherent in Korean oral literature could be an important alternative to discussing multiculturalism.
