대학 재학 중 진로‧취업 지원 프로그램 참여 유형과 효과성 분석: 대학 전공지식의 유용성에 미치는 영향을 중심으로

국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구의 목적은 대학생의 진로·취업 지원 프로그램 참여 경험의 다면적인 특성을 살펴보고자 대학 재학 중 진로·취업 지원 프로그램 참여 경험을 유형화하고, 대학 전공지식의 유용성을 중심으로 참여 유형의 효과성을 분석하는데 있다. 연구방법: ‘2020 대졸자 직업이동 경로조사(2019 GOMS)’ 자료와 대학공시자료를 병합하여 최종적으로 2018년 8월과 2019년 2월에 졸업한 4년제 대학 졸업생 6,169명의 자료를 활용하여 잠재계층분석(LCA)과 다층모형분석(HLM)을 실시하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 잠재계층분석(LCA) 결과, 대학 재학 중 진로·취업 지원 프로그램 참여 경험은 ‘기업채용 설명회 중심형’, ‘다경험 집단’, ‘저경험 집단’, ‘교과목 수강 및 상담 중심형’, ‘무경험집단’의 5개의 잠재 유형으로 구분되었다. 둘째, 2수준 다층모형(HLM) 분석 결과, 학생 및 대학 수준 공변수를 통제하였을 때, ‘교과목 수강 및 상담 중심형’ 유형만이 대학 전공 지식의 유용성에 유의한 정적 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학 전공지식의 유용성은 삶의 만족도, 졸업 전 취업목표 유무, 부모 학력, 대학 평균 취업률, 대학소재지 등 학생 및 대학 수준 변수에 유의한 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 대학생의 진로·취업 지원 프로그램 참여를 장려하기 위한 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The study aims to categorize the latent classes of the college students' participation in career and employment preparation programs and to analyze the effectiveness of each latent class on the usefulness of college major knowledge. Method: Data from the 2019 GOMS(Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey) and the Information Service of Higher Education(AcademyInfo) were used for the analysis. By using data of 6,169 four-year college graduates who graduated in August 2018 and February 2019, latent class analysis(LCA) and hierarchical linear modeling(HLM) were conducted. Results: First, the results of latent class analysis (LCA) show that university students’ experiences in career and employment preparation programs were classified into five types: ‘company recruitment-oriented group’, ‘multi-experience group’, ‘low-experience group’, ‘course enrollment and counseling-oriented group’, and ‘no-experience group’. Second, when controlling for student and university level covariates, the hierarchical linear modeling (HLM) analysis revealed that only the ‘course enrollment and counseling-oriented group’ had a significant positive impact on the usefulness of college major knowledge. Third, university students’ individual characteristics (i.e., life satisfaction, pre-graduation employment goals, and parental education) as well as university characteristics (i.e., average employment rates of university, and university location) were significantly related to the utility of major-specific knowledge. Conclusion: The main findings of this study were as follows. Based on these findings, implications for promoting effective participation of college students in career and employment support programs were discussed.
