다문화언어강사의 문화지능과 다문화 교수효능감에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 다문화언어강사들을 대상으로 타문화에 효과적으로 적응하는 개인의 능력을 나타내는 문화지능과 다문화 교수효능감의 관계를 살펴봄으로써 다문화교육 역량 강화를 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 경기·인천지역 108명의 다문화언어강사의 문화지능과 다문화 교수효능감 수준을 측정하였고, 배경 변인에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있는지 검증하였다. 연구 결과 다문화언어강사의 문화지능은 평균 4.85, 다문화 교수효능감은 평균 3.66으로 모두 평균보다 높게 나타났다. 다문화언어강사의 문화지능은 최종학력, 이중언어강사 경력, 다문화 연수 경험에 따라서 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 다문화 교수효능감의 경우 다문화 연수 경험에 따라서만 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 또한 문화 지능 수준에 따라 다문화 교수효능감도 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였으며, Sheffe 사후검증 결과 문화지능 ‘상’집단과 ‘중, 하’집단 간 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 다문화교육을 담당하고 있는 다문화언어강사의 다문화 교수효능감 증진을 위해 문화지능이 참조되어야 하며, 이를 위한 연수의 필요성에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to offer fundamental data for multicultural education empowerment of bilingual teachers by investigating the interrelationship concerning multicultural teaching efficacy and cultural intelligence as individual capabilities that are required for adaptation as well as other cultural surroundings. For this study, we measured the level of multicultural teaching efficacy and cultural intelligence of 108 bilingual teachers in the area of Gyeonggido and Inchon to examine whether there was a meaningful difference according to the background variables. According to the result of this study, the average level of cultural intelligence of bilingual teachers was 4.85 whereas the multicultural teaching efficacy was 3.66. Both were higher than the average level. The cultural intelligence of bilingual teachers is a meaningful difference according to the education level, the experience of multicultural training and education career. The multicultural teaching efficacy of bilingual teachers only shows a meaningful difference when looking at the experience of multicultural training. Moreover, we examined whether there was a meaningful difference of multicultural teaching efficacy according to the level of cultural intelligence. As a result of study, there was a statistically meaningful difference and the sheffe post-test shows that there are significant differences between the low, medium, and high rank. Using these results, we have discussed the matter for bilingual teachers to refer to their cultural intelligence in order to empower the multicultural teaching efficacy who have a responsibility to multicultural education.
