국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 비근로 노인의 진로장벽이 취업자신감에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고 이 과정에서 노인이 가진 사회경제적 지위(소득, 주관적 계층의식)의 조절효과는 어떠한지 파악하는 것이다. 연구를 위해 고령화연구패널(KLoSA) 7차년도 자료(2018)를 분석에 이용하였으며 연구대상은 만 55~74세의 비근로 노인 1,459명이다. 연구결과를 보면 먼저, 비근로 노인들의 취업자신감은 39.68점(100점 만점)으로 낮은 수준이었다. 둘째, 응답자는 진로장벽 중 심리적 장벽을 가장 높게, 사회구조적 장벽을 가장 낮게 인식하였다. 셋째, 노인이 직면한 진로장벽이 취업자신감에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과는 심리적 장벽에서 취업자신감이 낮아졌고 사회구조적 장벽에서 높아졌다. 마지막으로 진로장벽과 취업자신감 간의 관계에서 노인의 사회경제적 지위가 갖는 조절효과는 주관적 계층의식만이 부분적으로 유의하였다. 연구결과를 토대로 비근로 노인의 진로장벽을 완화하고 취업자신감을 고취할 수 있는 일자리 지원정책의 제고, 서비스의 강화 등을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of career barriers on the level of confidence in job-seeking among the unemployed elderly, and to investigate the moderating effect of socioeconomic status (income, subjective class consciousness) on confidence in job-seeking. Data from the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing (KLoSA) conducted in 2018 were analyzed. The subjects of the study were 1,459 elderly people aged 55 to 74 who do not currently work. Our analysis revealed the following results. First, confidence in job-seeking among the unemployed elderly was severely low, scoring 39.68 out of 100. Second, psychological barriers were often experienced and social structural barriers were the lowest. Third, psychological barriers had the greatest impact on confidence in job seeking, while social structural barriers had the least. Lastly, we also measured the moderating effect of socioeconomic status in the relationship between career barriers and confidence in job-seeking. Confidence in job-seeking was significant only in the subjective class consciousness. Our findings suggest that the different types of career barriers experienced by the unemployed elderly as well as their socioeconomic status may play an important role in helping them to successfully plan their career paths.
