노인의 사회참여에 대한 연구 동향과 과제

국문 초록

본 연구는 노인의 존엄과 가치를 인정하고 주체적이고 능동적인 삶을 영위하게 함으로써 성공적 노화와 함께 사회적 대응으로 꼽히고 있는 사회참여에 관한 그동안의 연구를 분석해보고 학문적 기초를 제시하고 방안을 살펴보고자 연구하였다. 이를 위해 1980년부터 2021년까지 발표된 학술지 546편을 중심으로 연도별, 학술단체, 연구 주제와 하위 내용, 연구 주제 변인, 연구 방법으로 분류 기준을 설정하였고, 그 분석된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연도별 발표된 논문은 2010년대 발전에 기틀을 마련하였으나 코로나19(COVID-19)로 성장의 발판을 마련하지 못하는 상황에 빠졌다. 둘째, 학술 정보에는 예술 체육 분야가, 연구 주제로는 운동 분야가 가장 많았다. 셋째, 사회참여에 대한 용어는 정의되지 않은 상태이고 사회참여에 대한 유형은 여가와 체육 중심으로 연구되고 있었다. 넷째, 연구 목적으로는 노인에 대한 삶의 만족감을 살피려는 연구가 가장 많았고, 연구 방법은 양적 연구에 편중되어 있었다. 따라서 이에 대한 대응으로 노인의 생애주기별 활동 영역의 재편과 신노년층의 다양한 욕구에 부합하는 종합적 지원이 필요하고, 예비 노년층의 사회참여 준비를 강화하고 지역 사회 통합적 공동체 형성 등을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed research on social participation and the academic foundation and method in such research. Social participation is considered a social response with successful aging, by recognizing the dignity and value of older adults in leading a subjective and active life. For this purpose, focusing on 546 journal articles published from 1980 to 2021, the classification criteria were set by year, academic organizations, research topics and sub-contents, research subject variables, and research methods. This study derived the following results. First, the papers published by year laid the foundation for the development in the 2010s, but were unable to establish a foothold for growth due to COVID-19. Second, the field of art and physical education was the most common in academic information, and that of exercise was the most common in research topics. Third, the terminology of social participation was not defined and its types were studied mainly in terms of leisure and physical education. Fourth, the most common research objective was to examine older people’s life satisfaction, and the research method focused on quantitative research. Therefore, it is necessary to reorganize the activity area of older adults by life cycle and provide comprehensive support in accordance with their various needs, to strengthen their preparation of social participation, and to form an integrated community.
