백희나 그림책에 나타난 가족의 의미 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 백희나 그림책에 나타난 가족의 특성을 분석해보고 가족의 의미를 탐색해보는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 백희나 그림책 중 가족을 모티브로 한 8권의 그림책을 선정하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 백희나 그림책에 나타난 가족은 아이의 주체적인 삶을 지지하는 가족, 부모의 믿음으로 아이의 본성을 인정하는 가족, 형제자매의 관계로부터 사랑을 실천하는 가족, 조부모의 삶의 지혜로 품어주는 가족이라는 특성을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 가족이라는 것은 아이의 존재 특성이 드러나고 아이가 주체적 존재자로 살아가는 공간이며, 사랑의 의미를 생성해내고 사랑을 실천해나가는 친애(親愛)공동체이다. 또한 가족은 타자와의 만남이 시작되는 최선(最先)의 장이자 최고(最古)의 장이며, 전통의 지혜로 세대를 이어주는 사이(思利)존재이다. 본 연구는 시대상과 사회적 요구를 반영한 문학작품을 매개로 가족의 의미를 돌아보는 계기가 되었다는 데 의의가 있으며, 유아교육현장에서 그림책을 활용하여 공동체적 가치를 실현하며 가족과 함께 더불어 사는 공동체적 삶을 살아가기 위한 기초자료가 될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the characteristics of families shown in eight picture books by Baek Hee-na. It was found that families shown in these picture books are characterized as supporting children’s independent life, recognizing their nature based on parental’s belief, featuring families in which brothers and sisters practice love and grandparents that use their wisdom to embrace their family. Findings of this study are as follows. This study found that family is a space in which a child lives as an independent being and the existential characteristics of a child are exposed. Second, a family is an affectionate community in which its members create and practice the meaning of love. Third, a family is the best and oldest place in which its members begin meeting others. Fourth, the family connects generations based on traditional wisdom. This study intends to examine the meaning and relationships in today’s society facing the breakup of families through picture books, which reflects phases in times and social needs and provides an opportunity to freshly examine families in the field of early childhood education.
