국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 20세기 이후, 시대와 미술의 패러다임이 변화될 때마다 미술관의 형태와 역할이 변화된 현상을 고찰하고, 코로나시기의 위기 속에서 미래의 미술과 미술관의 진로를 고민하기 위한 시도이다. 이를 위해 대중과 함께 한 미술과 미술관의 역사적 궤적을 고찰하고자, 2장에서는 공중·공공성(the public)의 개념이 사회구조 안에 확산되면서 ‘공익형 미술관’이 등장하여 전통과의 단절 및 독립을 선언한 모더니즘 미술과 접합관계를 이룬 배경에 대해 살펴보았다. 3장에서는 베를린 장벽의 붕괴를 기점으로 글로벌 네트워크와 다원주의의 확산 속에서 탈 중심과 관계성을 성찰하는 포스트모더니즘 미술이 새로운 지형을 형성함에 따라, 관람객의 참여와 소통을 유도하는 ‘상호개방형 미술관’의 등장과 전개양상을 추적했다. 4장에서는 뉴미디어와 테크놀로지의 급부상 속에서 디지털 콘텐츠가 확산되면서 디지털 기반의 소통체계를 강화하는 ‘디지털 미술관’의 등장과 활약에 대해 살펴보았다. 5장에서는 코로나시대의 물리적 단절을 극복하기 위해 전 세계 온텍트 미술관의 대처 방안에 대해 알아보았다. 연구 결과 미래형 포스트 미술관은 산업혁명의 특성을 수용하는 패러다임의 확장 속에서 새로운 진화를 앞두고 있으며, 그 방향은 대중을 주체로 하여 개인을 위한 맞춤형 콘텐츠 제공 및 선택형 감상형식으로 발전될 것으로 전망된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to consider the change in the existence and role of the museum whenever the paradigm of the era and art changes after the 20th century, and to consider the future course of museum and art amid the crisis of the COVID 19. To this end, in order to consider the historical trajectory of art and museums with the public according to the paradigm change, Chapter 2 looked at the connection between public museum and modernist art, which emerged as the concept of ‘the public’ spread within the social structure. Chapter 3 tracked the emergence and development of ‘interactive open museum’ that encourages visitors to participate and communicate as postmodernist art reflecting on relationship of the global network and pluralism spread, starting with the collapse of the Berlin Wall. In Chapter 4, we looked at activity of digital museum that strengthen digital-based communication systems as digital content spreads amid the rapid rise of new media and technology. In Chapter 5, we looked at how to cope with the physical disruption of the COVID 19. Research shows that the futuristic post museum is set to evolve amid the expansion of the paradigm that embraces the characteristics of the industrial revolution, and its direction is expected to develop into a customized content provision and optional appreciation format for individuals.
