국문 초록

본 연구는 ‘시각문화교육은 실제 수업에서 어떠한 특징을 가져야 하는가’라는 질문으로부터 시작되었다. 시각문화교육이 근거한 철학적 토대가 수업 현장에서는 어떻게 구체화 될 수 있는지 시각문화교육의 교수 - 학습의 특성을 사례와 함께 살펴보았다. 우선 시각문화교육은 학습자가 관심을 갖는 시각문화를 매개로 해야 한다. 둘째, 이미지를 사회·문화적 관점에서 다루어야 한다. 셋째, 다양한 의미의 구성을 위해 탈교과적으로 접근해야 한다. 넷째, 시각 이미지와 학습자, 시각 이미지와 배경, 학습자와 배경 간의 비판적 상호작용을 촉진해야 한다. 다섯째, 새로운 기술적 경험의 시도나 이해를 포함해야 한다. 또한 현장에서 시각문화교육이 활성화되기 위해서는 교사들 자신이 다양한 문화적 경험을 통하여 생각을 확장시키고 변화된 학생들의 문화와 삶을 이해하도록 노력해야 한다. 이제 이것이 미술인가라는 질문은 어떻게 시각 이미지를 학습자들에게 필요한 학습 경험으로 제공할 수 있을 것인가라는 질문으로 대체될 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

A Practical Understanding of Methodology of VCAEKim, Jung-Sun(Gyeongin National University of Education) Im today s artworld there are numerous intertextual connections between culture and contemporary artwork. This study comes from the question, “What is Visual Culture Education in art lesson?Through the history of Visual Culture, European neo-Marxist theory, we know that VCE is the social approach of visual art. Based upon these, school curriculum has been established and developed. And the major characteristics of Visual pedagogy is desirable interactiv and intertexture forms. This paper begins with an assumption: the goals, the content, and the practices of VCE should be drawn from the social approach of visual works and texts. Based upon the work of Freedman, who presented the foundation of teaching visual culture: Reconceptualizing the field, Meaningful aesthetics, Social perspective, Interactive cognition, Culture response, Interdisciplinay interpretation, Technological experience, Constructive critique. I present the analysis frame of visual culture teaching program. The discipline of visual culture reflects a general tendency to reject the conventional art historical study of a canon of aesthetic masterpieces. Visual culture replaces masterpieces and the canon with a vast range of visual objects and events that are studied in light of their meaning and social significance rather than their aesthetic value.For the suitable VCE, teachers needed various cultural experiences and knowledge to develop concepts needed understanding of visual culture contexts around daily life. Also it needed systemic supports and theoretical and practical studies of visual culture.______________________________________
