국문 초록

본 연구는 미술 작품에서 표현된 상징이 인간의 인지 작용 결과 만들어진 것임을 밝히고 미술 감상 활동에서 범주화라는 인지 능력의 적용 가능성을 살피는 것이 목적이다. 범주화는 인간이 새로운 개념을 학습하는데 사용되는 인지 전략중의 하나이며 미술 작품의 상징을 해석하여 감상자의 경험과 연관시킨다. 미술 작품이 갖는 의미는 작가가 부여한 의미와 감상자가 부여한 의미 모두를 포함하며 감상자는 개인의 지식을 통합하여 작품의 의미를 해석한다. 감상자가 갖는 지식 통합의 기회는 미술 감상만이 갖는 특징이다. 감상 활동에서 범주화는 다른 학습에서 나타나는 범주화와 성격이 다르다. 미술 감상에서 범주화는 과정이 중요하고 심상을 이용하며, 개인의 지식을 통합하는 활동이다. 미술 감상에서 범주화는 조형 요소로 표현된 시각적 상징의 해석의 도구로 사용되며 지식을 통합하는 사고전략으로 사용된다. 또, 언어와 밀접한 관계가 있다. 언어로 표현된 작품의 제목은 작품에서 표현하고자 하는 개념을 함축하여 표현하고 감상 활동에서 개념 구성을 심화시킨다. 범주화를 통한 미술 감상은 미술작품의 개념을 해석하며 조직할 수 있는 방법이며, 미술의 인지적 성격과 관련되어있다. 미술 감상에서 범주화의 적용은 미술이 갖는 인지적 특성에 맞는 교육을 가능하게 할 것이다.

A study on the cognitive characteristics of categorization in art appreciationChoi, Soo-Young(Korea National University of Education) The purpose of study is not only study to represented symbol is made from result of men’s cognition but also investigate to apply categorization in art appreciation. Categorization is one of cognition strategy that is used to a new concept. In art appreciation, the instruction of categorization might be suggested that categorization is a way of art appreciation to interpret and organize conception of artwork. The meanings of artworks are composed of artist s and appreciator’s and appreciator interprets on relating his knowledges. The chance of appreciator’s synthesis in knowledges is a special characteristics in art appreciation. The characteristics of categorization in art appreciation is different from other subjects’. In art appreciation, categorization is important to process, use imagery and organize individual knowledges. In art appreciation, the instruction of categorization might be suggested that categorization is a way of art appreciation to interpret and organize conception of artwork. In art appreciation, to apply of categorization is enable to proper education of cognitive character.
