학교 급별 미술용어 인식에 대한 실태 조사 연구

국문 초록

초·중등 미술과수업에서는 순수미술, 응용미술, 미학, 미술사, 미술교육 등의 제 분야에서 사용하는 많은 미술용어를 활용한다. 미술용어는 미술과 교수-학습에 있어 중요한 언어적 매개체이다. 학생들은 미술용어를 매개로하여 미술에 대한 지식을 형성하면서 정보를 교환하고 소통한다. 미술용어는 미술과 미술문화에 대한 지식을 풍부하게 할 뿐 아니라 미술관, 박물관, 문화재 탐방 시 관련용어를 보다 쉽게 이해시키며 향수 활동에 도움을 준다. 학교 급별 학생들의 미술용어에 대한 인식도를 살펴보면 미술과수업에서의 미술용어 활용은 학교 급별과 학년 간에 차별을 두고 상호 연계되도록 좀 더 체계적인 학습을 필요로 한다. 연구결과 초등학생들은 미술용어를 수업시간에 배우지 않는 것으로 나타났으며 중학생들은 미술용어의 중요성을 인식하고 있으나 실제 미술용어에 대한 수업은 받지 않는 것으로 인식하고 있으며 일상생활에서 미술용어의 활용이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 고등학생들은 미술용어의 중요성을 인식하고 있으나 미적대상을 감상하거나 작품 제작 활동을 할 때 미술용어를 활용하는 것은 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 초·중·고 학생들에게 미술용어가 쉽게 이해되고 인식되기 위해서는 학습내용이 보다 구체적으로 학습되어지면서 학생들이 용어의 의미를 정확하게 이해하고 언어화 할 수 있도록 미술언어의 기초가 되는 용어의 이해를 기반으로 한 다양한 학습방법들이 제시되고 적용되어져야 한다.

영문 초록

Art terminology appears in elementary and secondary art textbooks which are directly related to studio work, art appreciation, aesthetics and art history of art lessons. After students learn the art terminology through class activity, they feel free to use the terminology by practicing and dealing with ideas they have. If students understand the context of art terminology fully, they will have a better sense of understanding the whole world of art as experiencing, searching, knowing and enjoying. We have examined how the present condition of art terminology education using questionaire survey for elementary and secondary students. Whether students learn art terminology properly at school art class, many students respond that they hardly have chance to learn art terminology relating any art activities including art appreciation. When students go to the museum or gallery, they will see the pictures and also read some preface of exhibition on the brochure. All the art terminology will appear on the brochure, and they will be able to understand the right meaning. If they do, they can become more engaged in works. The art terminology will lead them to the right meaning of exhibition and what is going on. Art has a visual language which has certain meaning and concept and has to communicate with other people. Many elementary and secondary students have difficult, understanding the art terminology which appears in textbooks. Elementary and secondary teachers would like to have well planned art lessons with art terminology.
