민관학협력 사회혁신 프로젝트 수업에 관한 질적 사례 연구

국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구는 2020학년도 1학기에 A여자대학교에서 실시한 사회문제해결 프로젝트 수업 사례를 통해 사회혁신을 위한 민관학협력 수업의 역할과 의미를 살펴보고 이를 대학에서의 사회혁신교육 실천의 유용한 한 방안으로 제안하고자 한다. 연구방법: 수업 관련 기록, 개발 및 운영 회의록, 학생 제출물(프로젝트 결과 발표자료, 성찰저널, 만족도 조사 결과)을 주요 데이터로 수집하고 이를 분석하여 핵심 주제를 범주화하였다. 연구결과: 이 수업은 대학, 정부기관, NGO, 민간기업이 참여한 민관학협력 수업으로 개발, 운영되었으며 학생들은 의정부시 도시재생사업의 한 부분에 참여하였다. 총 28명의 수강생이 7개 팀으로 나뉘어 의정부시 신흥마을에서 프로젝트를 실시하였고, 각 기관은 프로젝트 현장 제공, 기관별 멘토링과 전문가 평가로 수업에 참여하였다. 학생들은 수업을 통해 다양한 관점을 이해하고 기관 간 협업을 통해 사회 변화를 추구해 가는 과정을 경험하였고 이를 통해 사회혁신 활동이 독려되었던 것으로 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 이 논문은 민관학협력 프로젝트 수업이 사회혁신을 추구하는 다양한 주체들을 연결하는 역할을 하고 이를 통해 학생들의 사회혁신 활동을 촉진함으로써 유용한 사회혁신교육 실천의 한 방안으로서 대학에서 적용 가능성이 있음을 보여주었다. 향후 발전된 수업을 통해 사회변화에 실제적으로 기여하기 위하여 프로젝트 현장 주민들과의 소통과 협업이 강화될 수 있는 방안과 지원 체계 마련이 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the role and significance of a university course as a means of connecting various social innovation actors through a qualitative case study on a project-based learning for social innovation by a public-private-academic partnership conducted at a women’s university. Based on the case study, this research suggests an effective approach of social innovation education. Method: The course was reviewed by analyzing the class materials, course-related records, results of the class satisfaction survey conducted after the end of the course, reflection journals submitted by the students, project’s final presentation materials and project proposals of each team. Results: The course was developed as a public-private-academic partnership involving a university, a government agency, a non-profit organization, and a private company. The students participating in the course were part of an urban regeneration project in the city of Uijeongbu. A total of 28 students took part in the project designed in the course. The agencies that participated in the course supported and mentored the students and also evaluated their performance. It was found that the students experienced the whole process of a project and various perspectives through the course because of the participation of various agencies in the pursuit of social change. The students were also inspired to participate in social innovation activities during the whole process of the course. Conclusion: This qualitative case study is significant as it provides directives for promoting social innovation through the collaboration of various actors pursuing social innovation, namely between agencies and institutions, and between the students and institutions. The course can be considered as an effective approach of social innovation education in universities. Further work is needed to build a support system to strengthen communication and collaboration between various social innovation actors including residents of the project site.
