청각장애 특수학교 교과서 재구성 실태 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 청각장애 특수학교에서 교사가 수행하는 교과서 재구성의 실태를 조사하는 것이다. 청각장애 초등학교와 중·고등학교 교사 96명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하고, 그 결과를 카이제곱 검정과 Fisher의 정확 검정으로 분석하였다. 교과서를 41% 이상 재구성하는 비율은 초등학교 48.8%, 중·고등학교 69.7%로 나타났으나 초등학교와 중·고등학교 간 유의한 차이는 없었다. 재구성을 하는 이유는 ‘학생수준에 맞지 않는 난이도’가 가장 높은 비중을 보였다. 중·고등학교는 초등학교에 비해 특히 과학 교과목에서 단원 재구성 비율이 높은 경향을 보였다. 수학 교과목은 모든 학교급에서 타 교과목에 비해 낮은 재구성 비율을 보였다. 초등학교와 중·고등학교에서 학생의 개별적인 언어 및 학습 수준에 따른 교과내용의 난이도 조정이 교과서의 재구성을 통해 이루어지고 있으며, 교과서 자체만으로는 수준별 학습이 이루어지기 어려운 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 청각장애 특수학교 교사의 재구성을 촉진하기 위해 교과서 개발 기준 중 하나로 재구성의 용이성을 고려할 것을 제언한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the textbook reconstruction in schools for hearing impairment. A questionnaire consisting of seven questions about textbook reconstruction was developed and surveyed for 96 teachers in elementary and secondary special schools for hearing impairment. Pearson’s chi-square tests and Fisher’s exact tests were conducted. The results revealed that the percentage of reconstruction of textbooks by more than 41% were 48.8% for elementary schools and 69.7% for secondary schools, but there was no significant differences between school levels. The difficulty of textbooks was the main reason for reconstruction in both elementary and secondary schools. Secondary schools tended to have a higher percentage of unit reconstruction in science subjects than in elementary schools, and mathematics showed lower reconstruction percentages than other subjects at all school levels. The reconstruction of textbooks was performed to adjust the difficulty level of textbook’ contents according to students individual language and learning levels. These findings suggest that the ease of reconstruction takes into consideration as one of the textbook development criteria in order to enhance the capacity for reconstruction of teachers for in schools for hearing impairment.
