전라북도 혁신학교 운동의 태동과정에 대한 연구

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 2010년 7월 1일 취임한 김승환 전라북도 교육감의 핵심정책인 혁신학교 운동의 시작배경, 추진과정, 배경철학 등을 살피는 것이다. 이를 위해 2010년 9월1일~2011년 8월31일까지 존재했던 혁신학교추진위원회(혁추위)의 회의록 검토, 혁추위원 인터뷰, 도교육청 혁신학교 담당부서에서 생산한 문서 검토, 혁신학교 업무 담당자 인터뷰, 혁신학교 방문 관찰 및 교사 인터뷰, 혁신학교 관련 연수 자료분석, 혁신학교 연수 강사 인터뷰 등의 다양한 방법을 사용하였다. 이 연구 결과 알아낸 사실은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전라북도 혁신학교 운동은 일군의 진보적인 교사들을 중심으로 2000년경부터 일기 시작한 작은 학교를 통한 학교(수업) 개혁 운동의 연장선에 있다. 둘째, 전라북도 혁신학교 운동은 경기도 지역에서 1년 먼저 시작한 혁신학교 운동을 참조하여 전개되고 있다. 셋째, 전라북도 혁신학교 운동은 진보주의 철학을 근간으로 하되 그것의 한계를 극복하려는 노력을 병행하고 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to review the backgrounds, process, and the grounded philosophy of the school innovation project(SIP) that was started by Kim, Seungwhan who took office as superintendent of education of Jeonbuk Province on July 1, 2010. To do this, the minutes of school innovation committee(SIC) were closely reviewed, some of the SIC members were interviewed, official documents were reviewed, teachers working for the innovation schools were interviewed and observed, and in-service program for innovating schools were reviewed. What found in this study were as follows: First, Jeonbuk SIP was an extension of the small school saving project that was initiated by a group of progressive teachers in the opening of the 21st century. Second, Jeonbuk SIP referred to Gyeonggi SIP that was began one year earlier. Third, the background philosophy of Jeonbuk SIP could be called neo-progressivism because it tried to save not only the merits of progressivism but also tried to overcome the demerits of progressivism.
