국문 초록

이 연구는 한국 2015개정 초등학교 체육교육과정 건강 영역과 미국 유타주 초등학교 건강교육과정을 비교 분석함으로써 체육교육과정 개정 시 건강교육에 관한 기초자료를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 양국 간 건강교육과정을 Bereday의 비교연구 4단계에 따라 분석한 결과 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국과 유타주 건강교육의 강조점에 차이가 있었다. 한국은 2015개정 체육과 교육과정에서 안전 영역이 신설됨에 따라 건강교육의 일부가 안전 영역으로 옮겨가고, 여가 영역이 건강 영역으로 흡수됨에 따라 건강 영역에서 운동을 통한 건강 증진 성격이 짙어졌다. 유타주는 시대적 문제점을 반영하여 기본생활습관 및 생활 건강, 안전 등에 대한 내용이 체계적, 심화적으로 구성되어 있었다. 둘째, 양국 간 건강교육 시행방식의 차이가 있었다. 한국은 건강교육을 체육교과의 건강, 안전 영역을 비롯한 다양한 교과와 범교과 차원에서 통합교육차원으로 시행되는 반면, 유타주는 체육 교과와 건강 교과가 분리되어 모두 필수교과로 시행하고 있었다. 셋째, 양국은 교육과정의 운영 측면에서 차이점이 있었다. 한국은 중앙집권 형태의 하향식 구조에 따라 지역 및 교사의 재량권이 약한 반면, 유타주는 분산 형태의 주 단위 교육과정 운영이 가능하여 지역 및 교사의 재량권이 높은 편이었다. 넷째, 유타주 건강교육과정에서는 건강의 개념을 지역 공동체로 확장시켜 운영하고 있었다. 이는 주 단위 교육과정의 운영이 가능해지면서 지역사회 일원으로서 건강한 민주 시민 양성에 보탬이 된다. 다섯째, 유타주 건강교육과정은 융합교과 및 보충과목이 성취기준별 세부목표에 상세히 제시되어 있다. 따라서 교사는 건강교육을 운영함에 있어 융합교과 재구성의 참고자료로 이 부분을 활용할 수 있었다. 이를 토대로 건강교육과 관련하여 후속연구를 위해 다음과 같은 제언을 한다. 첫째, 비교 대상 국가를 다양화하여 각국 건강교육 운영방식을 비교 분석함으로써 좋은 점을 우리나라에 도입할 수 있도록 해야 한다. 둘째, 우리나라에서 시행되는 건강교육 중 불필요하거나 중복되는 내용을 색출하여 건강교육 관련 내용들에 대한 통·폐합이 필요할 것으로 판단되며 이에 대한 연구가 이루어질 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

The results of the comparative analysis of the health education curriculum of elementary school 2015 revised elementary school in Korea and the health education curriculum of Utah elementary school in Utah were compared according to Bereday s 4 steps. The results of this study were as follows. First, we found differences in emphasis on health education in Korea and Utah. In Korea, as a part of the health education was shifted to the safe area and the leisure area was absorbed into the health area as the safety area was newly established in the 2015 revised physical education curriculum, the health field showed the health promotion characteristic through exercise. Utah has been structured systematically and deeply in terms of basic life habits, living health, safety, etc., reflecting the problems of the times. Second, there was a difference in the way health education was implemented between the two countries. In Korea, health education is implemented as integrated education in various subject and cross - sectional areas including health and safety field of physical education subject, while physical education and health subjects are separated as essential subjects in Utah. Third, there was a difference in the operation of curriculum between the two countries. In Korea, the discretion of local and teachers is weak due to the top-down structure of the centralized administration. Utah has a relatively high level of discretion in the region and teachers because it can operate on its own in Utah.Fourth, in the health education curriculum in Utah, the concept of health was extended to local communities. As the state-level curriculum can be operated, it contributes to the development of healthy democratic citizens as a member of the community. Fifth, the health education curriculum in Utah is listed with fusion and supplementary course in the specific objectives of each achievement standard. As a result, the teacher could utilize it as a reference for reconstructing the fusion course in running the health education. Based on this, the following suggestions are made for the follow - up study related to health education. First, diversification of comparative countries should be made so that we can introduce a good point to Korea by comparing and analyzing the way of operating health education in each country. Second, it is expected that the contents related to health education will be needed to be found out in unnecessary or redundant contents of health education conducted in Korea.
