기호학적 접근을 통한 미술 교과서 표지 속 신화 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 미술 교과서 표지를 매개로 일어나는 의미작용을 분석함으로써 미술 교 과와 관련된 보편화된 인식을 드러내고 미술 교과 교육 현황을 성찰하는 것이다. 이를 위해 바르트의 광고 이미지 분석 방법론과 교과서 전문가 그룹을 대상으로 한 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 조사를 바탕으로 논의를 전개하였다. 연구 결과 한국 미술 교과서 표지에서 붓을 들고 있는 화가 도상을 활용하거나 작가의 작 품을 재구성하여 제시하는 방식이 주된 특징으로 나타났다. 이러한 인식이 사회문화적으로 구성된 것임을 확인하기 위한 목적에서 국외 교과서 표지 비교를 병행하였다. 또한 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 내용과의 비교를 바탕으로 미술 교과서 표지가 아름답고 행복한 채색 활동으로 서의 미술 교과 기능에 대한 신화를 구성하는 데 영향을 주고 있음을 확인하였다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 연구진은 교과서 표지 개발 과정에서 표지 디자인 구성 방향에 대한 논의를 집필진과 교과서 발행 관계자들이 공동으로 진행하는 방안, 개발진 간 의사결정 구조 를 개선하기 위해 디자인 발주서를 활용하는 방안, 교과서 심사 및 선정 시 활용하는 도서 심사기준안에 표지 이미지 구성과 관련된 항목을 보완할 것을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the semantics of non-verbal texts through the art textbook cover, to reveal the universal perception related to the arts curriculum and to reflect on the current status of art curriculum education. To do this, we examined Roland Barth’s methodology of advertising image analysis and conducted focus group interviews with textbook experts. As a result, the main feature of the Korean art textbook cover is the way of utilizing the painter image holding the brush or reconstructing the artist’s works on the art textbook cover. In order to confirm that this perception is socio-cultural, we compared the foreign textbook covers with Korean art Textbook covers. Also, based on the comparison with the contents of the focus group interview, it was confirmed that the cover of the art textbook affects the composition of myths about the art curriculum function as a beautiful and happy coloring activity. Based on the results of the research, the researchers suggested that the textbook cover could be used as an attempt to overcome the current situation of culture. In addition, the researchers suggested the use of the design order book to improve the decision making structure between the development teams, and the items related to the composition of the cover image in the book evaluation standard used in textbook review and selection.
