국문 초록

한동안 철학자들은 ‘지식’의 문제를,예술가들은 ‘예술의 본질과 의미’의 문제를 탐 구해왔다.인간 문화의 주요 테제인 ‘지식’과 ‘예술’은 과연 통합될 수 없는 것인가? 예술의 본질과 의미에서 지식은 별개의 것인가?문화와 예술작품에 대한 해석,인간 문명의 이해와 미적인 삶은 서로 밀접한 관련성 속에서 복잡해지고 있다.지식과 예 술의 종합을 철학적으로 논의한 단토(A.Danto)에 의하면 미술의 역사는 철학적 문제 로 점철되어 있는 것이다(1999/2007).그렇다면 예술과 지식의 문제에서 미학적 논의 는 어떠한 입장을 취하고 있는가?헤겔(Hegel)이후 예술과 사회의 관계는 미학이라 는 학문 속에서 공통의 화두로 등장하게 되었고 예술이 무엇인지를 우리에게 말해주 는 것이 미학이라는 주장(G.Plumpe,1993/2007)도 제기되었다.예술인지주의자 굿맨 (N.Goodman)과 그의 제자 엘긴(C.Elgin)에 의해 비로소 미학은 인식론에 통합되었 다.1) 굿맨에 의하면 미학은 가치론이 아니라 인식론에 속하는 것이다(황유경,2001). 예술이 인지적 기능을 가진다는 주장(Efland,2002;Gardner,1983;Goodman,1968; Langer,1957)은 또 다른 인식의 전환을 가져오게 되었고,기존에 논의되어왔던 미학 의 위치는 재정립되었다.

영문 초록

The issue about art education and art curriculum should be interpreted the aesthetic value and certain epistemology. For these reasons, there is no question that Eisner's aesthetic epistemology should provide reasonable and practical base to art curriculum in that the nature of art primarily interacts with the knowledge of art. Eisner asserts that the modes of knowing or the process of knowing about human is aesthetic. Furthermore, he has taken up the same position on art education. On top of that, the aesthetic in education has two major contributions to make, neither of which is yet a purposeful part of our educational agenda. First, it tells us alxlUt the world in ways specific to its nature. Second, it provides the experiential rewards of taking the journey itself. Eisner's assertion is that our experience of the world is basically qualitative. In order to achieve a social dimension in human experience, a means is demanded to carry what is private forward into the public realm. Thls is achleved by employing forms of representation. Forms of representation are the devices that humans use to make public conceptions that are privately held. Education is the process of learning how to invent yourself according to Eisner's phrase. To summarize, significant discussions stated in this paper include as follows: discussing about aesthetic mode of knowing and artistic cognition, enhancing artistic knowledge and cognitive functions of the 311s, suggesting art-based integration education, aesthetic experience based on aesthetic comloisseurshlp and aesthetic communication.
