생태주의 교육사회학의 시론적 검토

국문 초록

이 연구는 21세기의 대표적인 사회사상인 생태주의에 따라 기존 교육사회학 이론을 비판한 후 새로운 교육사회학 이론으로서 생태주의 교육사회학을 시론적으로 검토하고자 한다. 교육사회학의 중요 구성요소는 사회와 인간, 교육주체이며, 교육사회학은 이들 구성요소 간의 교육질서에 대한 질문과 대답이라고 할 수 있다. Bookchin의 사회생태론은 생태사회로서의 사회관, 변증법적 이성을 지닌 참여적 진화주체로서의 인간관, 이들의 변증법적 관계로서의 교육적 관계, 교육질서를 제시한 다. 이러한 Bookchin의 견해에 비추어 보면, 기존의 교육사회학이론은 단절적?분절적 사회관, 소극 적?도구적 인간관, 지배와 위계질서로의 교육질서를 제시하는 한계를 보여준다. 이를 극복하기 위 한 생태주의 교육사회학은 다음과 같이 제시된다. 첫째, 사회는 전일적인 생태사회로서 유기적인 상호작용, 상호연결망으로 제시된다. 둘째, 인간은 자기재귀 조직으로서 스스로 발생, 진화, 발전하 는 교육적 관계의 기본단위이다. 셋째, 교육적 관계는 각각의 교육주체가 참여하고 진화해 나가는 학습생태계로 제시된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the directions of a new ecological paradigm of the sociology of education. For this task, we criticized the existing theories of sociology of education viewed in the ecological light, and then proposed the ecological sociology of education. This study can be summarized as follows. First, ecologists assert the necessity of basic reorientation of crucial components of present social orders to overcome ecological crisis today. This means the movement from the mechanistic world view to the ecological world view and shift from dominant educational paradigm to new ecological paradigm in education. Second, we criticized the limits of the existing paradigm of sociology of education and then proposed a new ecological paradigm of the sociology of education. We criticized nation-centrism, ignorance of the autonomy of educational subjects on the existing theories in the light of ecological view-point. Third, I suggested that a new ecological paradigm of the sociology of education should be necessary these days. It insists on ecological reform of education, which makes actively possible the plan for ecologization of school environments as well as ecologization of the relations between nation and school, teacher and student on the basis of the ecological view-point. The important concepts of this theory are on the relationship between different educational subjects, which are composed of nation, school and teacher and student, and on their autonomy.
