국문 초록

본고는 고고학에 대한 대중 인식을 검토하고 변화하는 미디어 환경 속에서 효과적인 대중화 방안을 모색하는 데 연구 목적이 있다. 대중화의 의미는 대중의 이해를 기반으로 하여 궁극적으로 대중의 참여를 유도하는 것이다. 고고학의 대중화는 고고학 본연의 연구 목적과 무관하지 않으며 상호 연관성을 지닌다. 고고학의 대중화와 이를 위한 소통 모색은 연구자와 대중 사이의 지식 촉진과 확장에 영향을 주며, 우리 문화유산에 대한 공감 마련의 기반이 될 것이다. 문화유산의 중요성을 인식하고 적극적인 활동이 요구되는 주체는 사회를 구성하는 대중이다. 이를 위해 고고학 연구자는 학문적 연구 성과를 대중적으로 해석하여 다양한 공감과 소통거리를 만들고, 접근 가능한 과학적 진실을 효과적으로 설명할 의무가 있다. 오늘날의 고고학이 대중을 기반으로 하는 학문이기에 고고학 연구자는 그들과 인식을 함께하고 공감해야 한다.

영문 초록

There is direct relationship between the goal of archeological research and the popularization of archeology. That is, it aims to appeal to the general public by making them aware and understand the basics of archeology field. This paper seeks to examine the public’s recognition in regard to the reflection and perception of public culture on archeological contents and discover effective communication method. The popularization of academic interest begins with the mutual recognition and in rediscovering the public interest of academic pursuit and ontological value of the public. In rapidly changing society, it is essential to find meaningful archeological communication method and provide supports. Therefore, this paper’s goal of seeking effective communication method for the popularization of archeology will help in promoting and expanding the knowledge between researchers and the public and in placing groundwork essential for the sharing and communication on cultural heritage.
