영문 초록

Flurazepam is one of several 1 ,4-benzodiazepine derivatives widely used in clinical practice. Chemically , it is 7-chloro-l- (2-diethy laminoethyl) -5- (o-flurophenyl) -1,3-dihydro-2H-l，4-benzodiazepine- 2-one dihydrochloride. The sedative, anticonvulsant, and muscle re laxant .effects iof flurazepam on experimental animals resemble those of other benzodiazepines. But, it is used as a safe and fpotent hypnotic rather than as an antianxiety agent. Investigators suggested that any new psychotropic drug should be tested for their interaction with alcohol, because it might precipitate risk situation in cases of consuming alcohol concurrently . In view of these facts, the author conducted an animal experiment to investigate the effects of flurazepamon blood alcohol level in rabbits. Mater ial and method 1. The experimental work was done on mature rabbits of both sexes, weighing about 2kg. 2. The experimental animals were divided into two groups： the control and the experimental group. 3. The control group was given alcohol alone. 4. The experimental group was divided in to 4 subgroups： a) Alcohol plus flurazepam , 15mg/kg of body weight daily for 5 days. b) Alcohol plus flurazepam , 15mg/kg of body weight daily for 10 days. c) Alcohol plus flurazepam , 3 0m g/kg of body weight daily for 5 days, d) Alcohol plus flurazepam , 30m g/kg of body weight daily for 10 days. 5. Flurazepam was given orally in a single daily dose at afixed time. The last dose was given one hour ？？and ahalf before alcohol administration , 6. In all groups, 20% ethanol solution was slowly given in a dose of 5.0ml 1/kg of body weight for 5 minutes by intravenous route. 7. All of the blood specimens were obtained by cardiac puncture at both 15 and 45 minutes after alcohol administration . 8„ The blood alcohol level was determined by Cavetts method.
