영문 초록

Fourty one veteans with a diagnosis of postr-aumatic epilepsy with the history of head injury and subsequent clinical seizures plus some supporting clinical or laboratory evidence were surveyed, and the fdlowings were reported. Demographic data of the subjects surveyed were as follows; Age distribution ranged from 23 to 64 years, showing peak distribution in the thirties (39.0%). Marrie d patients comprised of 73.2% of the subjects. Their socio-economic status was low, 58. of the subjects belonging to the low cluss and only one subject belonging to the upper class. About 31.7% of the subjects were unemployed. A bout 43.9% were high schoolgraduates and 26.8% were primary schoolgraduates. Amajority of them (58.5%) did not belong to any religion. Some clinical findings were as follows; Onset fell in one to three years after head in jury in 51.2% of the subjects and only 2 .4% (oiie subject) reported that the onset was with in 5 months after head in jury . Associated ; psychiatric symptoms were headche in 28 cases, dizziness in 19 cases,, aggressive outbursts in 10 and anxiety and depression in 10 cases. Persecutory delusion, suicidal rumination , hallu cination and grandiose ideas were also reported. The psychiatric symptoms were reported to have occurred between 6 months to a year in 24.4% and 43.9% of the subjects reported that the symptoms occurred with in 3 years after head in jury . A bout 39% of the subjects revealed negative skull X-ray findings and 53.7% revealed X-ray evidences of craniotomy. Electro-encephalography was abnormal in 53.7% and 54.5% of the abnormal findings were of localized abnormalities.
