사이버대학 성인학습자를 위한 생성형 AI 챗봇의 실제 적용을 위한 요구분석에 관한 연구

국문 초록

연구 목적 : 생성형 AI 챗봇을 활용하여 성인학습자가 사이버학습을 하는 동안에 발생하는 학습관련 내용을 검색하고 대화해 보는 것이 학습흥미도와 학업성취도에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 확인하고, 추가적으로 성인학습자들의 요구를 분석하여 사이버학습에서 생성형 AI 챗봇의 실제적 적용을 위한 위한 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. 연구 내용 및 방법 : 2024년 1학기 인간의 학습과 교육 교과목을 수강하는 183명의 학생들은 각자의 ID로 LMS에 접속하여 15주차의 사이버학습을 진행하고, 주차별로 제시한 핵심어를 퍼플렉시티(Perplexity AI)로 학습을 진행하게 하였다. 모든 학습자는 수업전에 전통적인 사이버학습 방법에 대한 흥미도 설문을 실시하였고, 15주차까지의 학습이 끝나고 흥미도 설문과 유용성 설문, 개방형 설문을 실시하였으며, 학업성취도는 LMS 시스템에서 추출된 지필고사(중간/기말고사)와 학습참여도를 확인하였다. 요구분석은 활동이론의 행위영역인 주체-목표-도구의 3개 영역을 준거로 하였다. 결론 및 제언 : 성인학습자들은 생성형 AI의 챗봇 기능을 활용한 학습을 신기롭게 생각하며 학습흥미에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 인식하고 특히 대화의 기능에 만족감을 보였다. 그러나 일반적인 검색방법과 인공지능을 활용한 검색과 대화를 병행하거나, 정서적인 안정성이 확보되도록 피드백을 제공하는 것에 대한 요구가 있었다. 추가적으로 생성형 AI의 사용과 검색의 어려움을 해결하기 위한 방법 및 검색 결과의 활용방법을 포함하여 실제 실행에서는 개선할 사항이 도출되었다.

영문 초록

Research Purpose : The research objective is to investigate how the use of generative AI chatbots influences adult learners' interest in learning and academic achievement during cyber learning. Additionally, the study aims to analyze the needs of adult learners to derive implications for the practical application of generative AI chatbots in cyber education. Research Content and Method : 183 students taking the Human Learning and Education course in the first semester of 2024 accessed the LMS with their own IDs and completed 15 weeks of cyber learning, and used Perplexity AI to learn the keywords presented for each week. All learners completed a survey on their interest in traditional cyber learning methods before class, and completed an interest survey, a usefulness survey, and an open-ended survey after completing the 15th week of learning. Academic achievement was confirmed through written tests (midterm/final exams) extracted from the LMS system and learning participation. The needs analysis was based on the three areas of the subject-goal-tool, which are the action areas of the activity theory. Conclusions and Suggestions : Adult learners perceive the use of generative AI chatbots as an intriguing learning tool that positively influences their interest in learning, particularly expressing satisfaction with the conversational capabilities of these chatbots. However, there is a recognized need for combining traditional search methods with AI-enhanced searches and conversations, as well as providing feedback to ensure emotional stability during interactions. Additionally, challenges related to using generative AI and search functionalities were identified, leading to suggestions for improvements in practical implementation, including methods for utilizing search results effectively.
