The article is devoted to the peculiarities of verbal aggression in the language of Russian media.he purpose of this work is as follows:to determine the main communication strategies, tactics, means of verbal aggression implemented in the modern language of the media: in the headlines of articles and materials of the modern Russian press, in various online publications, political talk shows on Russian television, radio and telegram channels; to conduct a linguistic analysis of the means of expressing verbal aggression using the material of Russian-language media in order to identify the impact potential on the addressee. As studies have shown, the main indicator of verbal aggression in the language of the media are stylistically marked linguistic and speech means: expressive-colored, coarsely colloquial, invective, slang, argotic, obscene, taboo vocabulary, unmotivated use of obscene foreign language vocabulary, phraseological units, the presence of negative metaphors. connotation, etc., which served as material for our article. Due to the frequent use of “military”, “medical” and “sexual” and other metaphors, as well as “aggressive” phraseological units, readers find themselves involved in an “aggressive” language game and become objects of aggressive influence of all media. According to our observations the means of verbal aggression, which are saturated in media texts of the Russian media, are an effective tool for variable interpretation of reality and, as a consequence, for waging various kinds of information battles. The work identified some new patterns of expression of verbal aggression (for example, the use in Russian-language media texts of a large number of non-transliterated foreign words and expressions, computer jargon, etc.), features of the influence of ethnocultural and ideological factors on the degree of aggressiveness of texts in print media, telegram channels, etc. The results obtained can be used in university courses on lexicology, speech influence, as well as in teaching the Russian language and Russian as a foreign language.
