드라마 자막의 반복적 시청이 어휘 학습에 미치는 영향 연구 - 러시아어권 중ㆍ고급 학습자를 대상으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 러시아어권 중ㆍ고급 한국어 학습자들을 대상으로 드라마 자막의 반복적 시청이 어휘 학습에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 실험 참여자 33명을 한국어 자막, 러시아어 자막, 무자막 집단으로 나누어 영상을 시청하기 전 어휘 테스트를 진행하고 드라마 시청 후 동일한 테스트를 일주일 간격으로 3회에 걸쳐 실시하였다. 실험 결과 한국어 자막과 무자막 집단은 반복적 시청이 통계적으로 유의미한 수준에서 효과가 있었음을 밝혔다. 또한 자막별 점수 변화 양상을 기술통계값으로 확인한 결과 상위권과 하위권 모두에서 한국어 자막이 가장 효과가 좋은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 상위권은 무자막, 러시아어 자막이 뒤를 이었고 하위권은 러시아어 자막, 무자막이 뒤를 이어 숙달도 별로 차이가 있음을 확인하였다. 표현 영역으로의 확장 역시 한국어 자막 집단에서 가장 점수 향상 폭이 컸으며 상ㆍ하위권 모두 한국어 자막, 러시아어 자막, 무자막 순서로 나타났다. 본 연구는 한국어 학습에 있어 자막의 반복적 시청이 미치는 긍정적인 영향을 실험을 통해 밝혔다는 점에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to determine the effect of repeated watching of drama subtitles on vocabulary learning for intermediate and high-level Korean learners whose L1 is Russian. The 33 participants in the experiment were divided into groups with Korean subtitles, Russian subtitles, and no subtitles. Vocabulary tests were conducted before watching the video, and the same test again after watching the drama, three times, one week apart. The results showed that repetitive watching was effective at a statistically significant level in the Korean subtitle and no subtitle groups. In addition, Korean subtitles were the most effective in both the upper and lower ranks. However, it was found that in the upper ranks, Korean subtitles were followed by no subtitles and then Russian subtitles, while in the lower ranks they were followed by Russian subtitles and then no subtitles, indicating a difference in proficiency. The expansion of the area of expression also showed the largest score improvement in the Korean subtitle group, followed by Russian subtitles and no subtitles in both ranks. This study thus shows empirically a positive effect of repetitive watching of subtitles on Korean language learning.
