질적 그래프를 구성하는 과제 해결에서 드러난 학생들의 공변 추론 수준 분석

국문 초록

본 사례 연구의 목적은 질적 그래프를 구성하는 과제의 해결에서 드러난 학생들의 공변 추론 수준을 분석하는 것이다. 학교 수학에서함수와 그래프를 학습하지 않은 학생 6명을 대상으로 2명씩 짝을 지어 3개의 그룹으로 나누어 수업을 진행하였다. 수업이 모두끝난 뒤 회고 분석 과정에서 양적 그래프를 구성하는 과제에서 학생들이 그린 그래프는 모두 직선 모양이었지만, 질적 그래프를구성하는 과제에서 그린 그래프 모양이나 설명에서는 학생들 간의 차이가 두드러지게 드러났다. 이에 본 연구는 질적 그래프를구성하는 과제 해결에서 드러난 학생들의 이해 수준과 그 변화를 Carlson et al. (2002)이 제안한 공변 추론 수준에 근거하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, 본 연구에서는 학생들의 공변 추론 수준에 따라 질적 그래프를 구성하는 과제 해결의 차이를 확인하였고, 그래프 학습초기에 학생들의 공변 추론 수준을 진단하거나 발달을 이끌기 위해서는 질적 그래프를 구성하고 이를 해석하는 과제가 충분히다루어질 필요가 있음을 제안한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this case study is to analyze the students' level of covariational reasoning revealed in solving the task of constructing qualitative graphs. The classes for this study were conducted on 6 students who had not learned functions and graphs in school mathematics, divided into 3 groups of 2 each. In the retrospective analysis after the class was over, the shapes of the graphs drawn by the students in the task of constructing a quantitative graph were similar, but there were notable differences between the students in the shapes and explanations of the graphs drawn in the task of constructing qualitative graphs. Accordingly, this study analyzed the students' understanding revealed in solving the task of constructing qualitative graphs based on the level of covariational reasoning proposed by Carlson et al. (2002). As a result, this study confirmed differences in solving qualitative graph tasks depending on students' covariational reasoning level. In addition, In addition, this study suggests that the task of constructing qualitative graphs and interpreting them needs to be sufficiently addressed in the early stages of graph learning to confirm and develop students' covariational reasoning.
