종교문화유산의 활용을 위한 시론

국문 초록

‘지방자치제’가 본격화한 시점부터 오늘에 이르기까지 각 지자체는 독특한지역문화콘텐츠의 창발과 긍정적인 지역문화의 확산을 위하여 다종다양한 노력을 기울여 왔다. 이는 지역경제 활성화는 물론, 한층 본질적인 차원인 지역민 스스로 생활환경과 생활양식을 개선하면서 삶의 질을 향상하고, 주체가 되어 지역적 삶과 유기적으로 관계 맺으며 지역의 문화 정체성을 형성해야 한다는 인식과 무관하지 않다. 그러나 지역이라는 수식어를 감안하더라도 지역민과 방문객의 요구에 부합하지 못하는 지역문화콘텐츠는 외면 받게 마련이다. 따라서 지자체는 지역문화와 지역문화콘텐츠의 지향점을 정립하고, 지역문화자원을 지속해 발굴·활용하는 한편 보존에도 진력할 필요가 있다. 논자들은 지역문화와 지역문화자원이 지역민의 삶, 문화 정체성과 직결될수 있으므로 ‘활용’에는 ‘보존’이 더불어 요구된다는 인식을 바탕으로 지역문화자원으로서 종교문화유산을 살피고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국 천주교사에서또렷한 위치를 점하고 있을 뿐 아니라, “생명을 소중히 여기며” 독특한 사목을 전개하여 ‘두랫배미 교구’로 불리는 천주교 안동교구의 종교문화유산을 논의의 대상으로 삼아 지속가능성을 갖춘 활용방안을 모색하고, 해당 콘텐츠의 기획에서 요구되는 방향을 제안하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 그간 논의되지 못했던 천주교 안동교구의 종교문화유산의 콘텐츠화를 다룬 최초의 연구라는 점에서 학술적·사회적 가치가 또렷할 것으로기대된다.

영문 초록

From the time the ‘Local Autonomy System’ began in earnest to today, each local government has made various efforts to create unique local cultural contents and spread positive local culture. This is not irrelevant to the perception that not only the local economy should be revitalized, but also the local people themselves should improve their living conditions and lifestyles, become subjects, organically relate to local life, and form a cultural identity of the region. However, even considering the modifier of region, local cultural contents that do not meet the needs of local residents and visitors will be shunned. Therefore, local governments need to establish the direction of local culture and local cultural content, continue to discover and utilize local cultural resources, and make efforts to preserve them. Therefore, researchers want to develop a unique point of “value life” in the history of the Korean Catholic Church to explore sustainable use of the religious a nd c ultural heritage of t he C atholic Andong Diocese, called the “Duratbaemi Diocese”, and propose the planning direction of the content. This study is of academic and social value in that it is the first study to deal with the content of the religious and cultural heritage of the Catholic Diocese of Andong, which has not been discussed so far.
