한비자의 철학을 통해 본 프로스포츠 프로페셔널리즘

국문 초록

본 논문은 한비자의 철학을 통해 프로스포츠의 프로페셔널리즘에 대해 분석하고 그것을 2002년 월드컵 4강 진출의 신화를 이루었던 히딩크 감독의 사례에 적용하여 살펴보려는 것이 핵심이다. 히딩크는 프로축구팀의 프로감독이기에 그의 축구 철학과 태도의 분석은 곧 프로감독의 프로페셔널리즘에 대한이해로 이어질 수 있다. 프로감독에 따라 선수를 대하는 방식이 다르기에 무엇이 정답이라 규정할 수는 없다. 히딩크의 경우 강력한 지도력을 통해 프로선수를 장악하고 이후 그들을 적재적소에 배치함으로써 오는 최상의 결과를기대했다. 이것이 히딩크의 프로페셔널리즘이다. 이러한 히딩크의 프로페셔널리즘은 한비자의 철학과 많은 부분에서 유사성을 찾을 수 있다. 한비자는 법· 술·세를 통해 신하를 장악하려 했고, 히딩크는 정도를 지나치지 않는 범위에서 선수들을 조련했다. 한비자는 온정주의(溫情主義)의 유가를 비판했고, 히딩크는 승리에 방해되는 인맥(人脈), 연공서열(年功序列)과 같은 것들을 제거하고자 했다. 그렇기에 비록 그들의 관심사와 시대는 다르지만, 환경의 유사성과 추구한 목적 그리고 그것을 추구하는 방식을 상당 부분 닮아있다. 본 논문은 프로감독 히딩크의 프로페셔널리즘을 한비자의 철학을 비교 분석하며 그같음과 다름을 찾고 있다. 접근 방식으로는 한비자의 주요 개념을 정리한 후히딩크의 프로페셔널리즘을 적용하는 형식을 취했으며 그의 자서전에 나온주요 사건들의 당시의 언론 기사를 인용 구체적인 증거를 제시함으로써 주장에 대한 설득력을 확보했다. 결론적으로 한비자의 철학을 통해 히딩크의 프로페셔널리즘을 분석하는 것은 가능했으며 그것을 통해 프로감독의 프로페셔널리즘을 체계화하는 것의 가능성 또한 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The key point of this paper is to analyze professionalism in professional sports through Hanbiza's philosophy and apply it to the case of Hiddink, who achieved the myth of advancing to the semifinals of the 2002 World Cup. Hiddink is a professional coach of a professional soccer team, so the analysis of his soccer philosophy and attitude can soon lead to a professional coach's understanding of professionalism. The way athlete are treated is different depending on the professional coach, so what can't be defined as the answer. For Hiddink, he expected the best results by dominating the professional athlete through strong leadership and then placing them in the right place. This is Hiddink's professionalism. Hiddink's professionalism can be found to be similar in many ways to Hanbiza's philosophy. Hanbiza tried to take control of his subjects through Rule(法), Absolute Authority(勢), and Tacit Art(術) and Hiddink trained the athlete within the range of breaking the set rules. Hanbiza criticized Confucianism's paternalism, and Hiddink tried to eliminate things like personal connections and seniority that prevented victory. Therefore, although their interests and times are different, they resemble much of the similarity of the environment, the purpose pursued, and the way they pursue it. This paper compares and analyzes the philosophy of Hanbiza, who has professional director Hiddink's professionalism, and seeks to be different from that. The approach took the form of applying Hiddink's professionalism after organizing the main concepts of Hanbiza, and secured the persuasion of the argument by presenting concrete evidence of major events in his autobiography. In conclusion, it was possible to analyze Hiddink's professionalism through Hanbiza's philosophy, and through it, it was also possible to confirm the possibility of systematizing the professionalism of professional coaches.
