『시경언해 』 번역 양상에 대한 일고찰

국문 초록

목적: 본고는 운문류 언해서인 『시경언해 』(1613)의 번역 양상을 검토하는 데 목적이 있다. 방법: 이를 위해 『시경언해 』의 구결문과 언해문의 양상을 『사서언해』의 동일 부분과 비교함으로써, 『시경언해 』의 번역 양상을 검토하였다. 결과: 『사서언해』와 비교하여, 『시경언해 』의 구결문은 선어말어미, 보조사를 첨가한 첨가형 구결, 형태가 다르지만 의미가 같거나 형태나 의미가 다른 구결로 바꾼 치환형 구결이 쓰였으며, 번역 양상은 1음절 한자어가 많이 쓰이고 주어가 존대자일 경우 주체존대가 비교적 철저히 쓰였으며 일부 오역이 바뀌었다. 결론: 구결문의 차이는 『시경언해 』의 언해자가 시구 어절 사이의 의미 관계를 더욱 세밀하게 반영하려는 노력과 한문 원문의 이해 차이에서 비롯된 것이며, 번역 양상과 관련하여 『시경언해 』에서는 단음절 한자어를 통해 시적 운율을 살리려는 노력, 철저히 존대법을 사용하려는 노력, 오역을 시정하는 노력을 보여 주었다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This paper aims to study the translation aspects of “Sigyeong- Eonhae” (1613), a verse translation book. Method: To this end, the translation pattern of “Sigyeong-Eonhae” was studied by comparing the patterns of the Gugyeol sentence and the Korean translation sentence of “Sigyeong-Eonhae” with the same part of “Saseo-Eonhae”. Results: Compared to “Saseo-Eonhae”, an additive type Gugyeol with pre-ending and auxiliary investigation, and a substitute Gugyeol with a different form but different form or meaning were used in Gugyeol Sentence in “Sigyeong-Eonhae”. In addition, in the translation pattern, a lot of single-syllable Chinese words are used, and when the subject is honorifics, the subject’s honorifics are relatively thoroughly used, and some misinterpretations have changed. Conclusion: The differences in Gugyeol sentence caused from the efforts of the translator of “Sigyeong-Eonhae” to reflect the semantic relationship between verse phrases in more detail and the difference in understanding of the original Chinese text. In addition, regarding the translation aspects, “Sigyeong-Eonhae” showed efforts to revive poetic rhyme through single-syllable Chinese words, to use honorifics thoroughly, and to correct mistranslation.
