한국전쟁기 피란수도 부산 춤계의지형과 변화

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국전쟁기 피란수도 부산에서 펼쳐진 춤계의 지형과 변화에 대하여 논의하였다. 구체적으로 월남한 무용가들, 남한의 타 지역에서 피란 온 무용가들, 타 지역에서 부산으로 공연 온 무용가들의 활동상을 기초로 당시 부산 춤계의 현황파악과 변화양상에 대하여 조명해보고 그들이 남긴 흔적과 오늘날 부산무용계에 끼친 영향에 대해 살펴보았다. 연구방법은 신문자료와 문헌자료 그리고 당시에 부산에서 활동하였던 조숙자(1929년생), 김진홍(1935년생)과 김온경(1938년생) 3인의 원로 무용가들의 대담을 통해 논의를 전개하였다. 먼저 한국전쟁 당시에 월남한 무용가로는 한성준 문하의 장홍심, 최승희 문하의 임정옥, 한순옥, 임수영, 김백봉, 전황 등이 있었다. 남한의 타 지역에서 피란 온 무용가들에는 조용자, 김천흥, 이매방, 박성옥, 이춘우, 박금슬, 김문숙등이 있었으며, 타 지역 출신으로 부산에서 공연한 무용가로는 송범, 김해랑, 이인범, 김상규 등이 있었다. 이 외에도 한국전쟁 이전에 부산에서 활동했던 무용가들 중에는 박용호, 박이랑, 옥파일, 이인범 등이 있었다. 이들은 부산에서 서로 영향을 주고받으며 대한민국 무용계의 역사를 써 내려갔다. 피란수도 부산에서 활동했던 무용가들이 남긴 업적을 간추려 보면 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있겠다. 첫째, 부산지역 무용학원 활성화에 기여한 바가 크다. 둘째, 부산지역의 무대무용 활성화에 기여하였다. 셋째, 춤 장르의 다양화를 이끌었다. 넷째, 국립국악원이 개설되었다. 다섯째, 무용비평이 시작되었다. 여섯째, 유능한 무용교육자들을 배출하였다. 일곱째, 전국최초 부산시립무용단 설립의 단초가 마련되었다. 이상의 내용을 종합해 보면 피란수도 부산의 무용역사가 남긴 것은 다름 아닌 ‘현대 부산 무용의 탄생’을 알리는 신호탄이었다고 마무리 지을 수 있겠다.

영문 초록

This study discusses the status and changes of the Busan dance industry in the evacuation capital, during the Korean War. Specifically, based on the activities of dancers who defected to South Korea, dancers who fled from other regions, and dancers who came from other regions to Busan to perform, this researcher examines the actual status and changes of the Busan dance industry then and looks into their traces and their impact on the Busan dance industry today. As a research method, this author develops the discussion through review on newspapers and literatures and also interviews with three senior dancers who were active in Busan at that time, Cho Sook-ja (born in 1929), Kim Jin-hong (born in 1935), and Kim On-gyeong (born in 1938). First of all, dancers who defected to South Korea during the Korean War include Jang Hong-sim under Han Seong-joon and Lim Jeong-ok, Han Soon-ok, Lim Soo-young, Kim Baek-bong, and Jeon Hwang under Choi Seung-hui. Dancers who fled from other regions include Cho Yong-ja, Kim Cheon-heung, Lee Mae-bang, Park Seong-ok, Lee Chun-woo, Park Geum-seul, and Kim Moon-sook, and dancers who came from other regions to Busan to perform include Song Beom, Kim Hae-rang, Lee In-beom, and Kim Sang-gyu. Also, dancers who were active in Busan before the Korean War include Park Yong-ho, Park Yi-rang, Ok Pa-il, and Lee In-beom. While being influenced by each other in Busan, they wrote down the history of the Korean dance industry. The achievements left by dancers who were active in Busan, the evacuation refuge can be summarized as follows. First, they contributed greatly to the vitalization of dance academies in Busan. Second, they contributed to the vitalization of stage dance in Busan. Third, they led the diversification of dance genres. Fourth, the National Gugak Center was opened. Fifth, dance criticism began. Sixth, competent dance educators were produced. Seventh, they laid the foundation to establish the Busan City Dance Company for the first time in the country. To sum up the contents above, we can conclude that what the dance history of Busan, the evacuation capital, left was nothing but a signal to announce ‘the birth of modern Busan dance’.
