중학교 국어 교과서의 음운 단원 연구

국문 초록

본고는 2009 교육과정에 따른 중학교 국어 교과서 중에서 음운 체계 관련 단원의 구성과 내용에 대해 검토하였다. 구성 면에서 보면 14종의 교과서 중 다른 영역과 통합 단원을 이룬 교과서는 4종이고 문법 단독 단원으로 구성된 교과서는 10종이었다. 또한 설명 중심 단원과 활동 중심 단원은 각각 7종씩 대등한 모습을 보였다. 내용 면에서는 ‘음소’라는 용어를 사용하지 않고 ‘음운’을 ‘말의 뜻을 구별해 주는 소리의 가장 작은 단위’라고 규정하면서 ‘소리의 길이’를 음운의 단위에 포함시키는 오류가 발견되었다. 용어 면에서는 고유어 계통과 한자어 계통의 용어를 섞어 사용하면서 음운 변동의 명칭과 유기적으로 연결되지 못하는 문제점이 발견되었으며, 울림소리와 안울림소리의 개념을 혼동하는 심각한 오류도 발견되었다. 이 밖에 예사소리, 거센소리, 된소리를 소리의 세기로 분류하는 등 크고 작은 오류가 발견되었고, ‘ㅐ’와 ‘ㅔ’의 발음이 잘 구별되지 않는 점, ‘ㅚ, ㅟ’가 대체로 이중 모음으로 발음되는 점과 같은 현실 발음에 대한 제시가 부족한 점 등이 문제로 파악되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to review the structure and contents of the phonology chapter in the middle school Korean textbooks of 2009 revised curriculum. In terms of the structure, there are two types about method presenting grammar contents, integration chapters are barly 4 kjnds, grammar chapters alone are 10 kinds among the 14 kinds of textbooks. And the number of the description－based chapters and the activity-based chapters is 7, the same number of each individual. In terms of contents, I found many large and small errors. First of all, by using the ‘phone’ in stead of the ‘phoneme’ as the term of the phonological smallest unit, the length became equivalent componet with consonants and vowels. Also Chinese character terms and pure Korean terms are mixed, they aren’t connected to the related phonological rules. In addition, there are some errors that lenis, aspirated, fortis are distinguished by intensity of sound. In the case of vowel, it’s a pity that the descriptions of the textbooks don’t include the aspect of actual pronunciation. Usually the pronunciation of /ㅐ(ɛ)/ and /ㅔ(e)/ aren’t distinguished and the pronunciation of /ㅚ/ and /ㅟ/ are diphthongs. But in the most textbooks these descriptions are missing.
