국문 초록

이 논문은 현재 중학교에서 사용 중인 2009 개정 『국어』 교과서를 검토해보고자 하며, ‘비유·운율·상징’ 관련 단원의 수록 제재와 성취 기준 구현 방식을 통해 문학 교육, 특히 현대시 교육을 살펴보았다. 중학교 『국어』 교과서에 구현된 ‘비유·운율·상징’ 관련 단원은 세 가지 측면에서 주목할 만한 특징을 확인할 수 있었는데 제재의 갈래별 성격이 그 첫 번째이다. 14종 중학교 『국어』 교과서에서 비유, 운율, 상징 단원에 선정된 표현 방식은 일상어보다는 문학적 언어에서, 그리고 서사보다 서정 갈래의 제재를 기반으로 하여 주로 다뤄지고 있었다. 둘째, 비유, 운율, 상징의 표현 방식 간 위계가 나타나는데 각 표현 방식과 관련된 작품 제재에 따라 적합한 학습 수준을 계획할 수 있다. 셋째, 교과서에서 표현 방식의 제재로 가장 많이 활용된 작품은 김영랑의 「돌담에 속삭이는 햇발」, 박두진의 「해」, 이장희의 「봄은 고양이로다」이다. 각각의 시는 순 우리말의 음악적 요소가 두드러지는 작품이라는 점, 추상적인 사물이나 관념이 함축적인 시어를 통해 구체적으로 나타나고 있다는 점, 대상 사이의 공통점이 다양한 비유적 표현으로 제시되고 있다는 점에서 운율, 상징, 비유를 대표하는 시로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to review the 『Korean』 textbook which was revised in 2009 and currently being used in middle school and to examine the aspect of poetic education through reviewing the unit related to ‘metaphor, rhythm, symbol’ and containing material ways of implementing achievements standard. Along with reviewing frequency of materials, I analyzed content elements contained in unit’s learning objective and identified how selected materials combine with content elements in the text book from three perspectives. First of all, when analyzing expression method of materials contained units related metaphor, rhythm and symbol in 14 kinds of middle school 『Korean』 textbook, the metrials mainly used in literature language more than ordinary language and in lyric genre more than narrative genre. This results from features of lyrical genre, which satisfy the learning objective of understanding and expression of the literature. Second, I verified that there is learning hierarchy which can affect understanding and expression among of metaphor, rhythm and symbol. Third, the order of poetry used by textbooks to show cases using the expressive tools of metaphor, rhythm, and symbol is 「Sunbeam whispering to stonewalls」 by Kim Yeong-rang, 「The sun」 by Park Doo-jin, 「Spring is a cat」 by Lee Jang-hee. These works not only appear much in 『Korean』 revised in 2009, but also had had high containing rate for previous curriculum., indicating they have set sort of canon.
