국문 초록

문학교육은 인간의 본성과 인간다움의 가치를 최대한으로 발휘하게 하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 이는 다문화교육의 목표인 ‘인간 존엄성과 보편적 인권에 대한 존중의 정신’과 상통한다. 특히, 아동기에 다문화 아동문학 작품을 통한 교육은 다문화 사회에 대한 올바른 인식과 태도를 확립하기 위한 효과적인 방법이 될 수 있다. 다문화 교육은 교육과정과 교과서가 효과적으로 구성되어야 한다. 교육과정을 검토해본 결과 총론에는 다문화의 지향이 잘 나타나 있으나 국어과의 성취기준에는 다문화 관련 내용이 전혀 없고, 국어 교과서에는 다문화 제재가 두어 편 밖에 수록되어 있지 않고 내용도 너무 단순하여 타문화 이해에는 도달하기 어려운 실정이다. 교과서에 좋은 다문화 동화를 제시하는 것만으로도 효과가 있지만, 목표중심 단원 편성 방식과 텍스트 중심 편성 방식을 적절히 절충 통합해야 한다. 교육과정의 총론에는 다문화의 지향이 잘 나타나 있으나 성취기준에는 다문화 관련 내용이 전혀 없다. 또, 국어 교과서에 다문화 제재를 더 많이 게재해야 하며, 교사는 좋은 다문화 작품을 선정할 수 있는 안목을 기르고, 타자의 문화 이해를 위한 학습 방법을 연구해야 한다.

영문 초록

Literature education aims to maximize the value of humanity and the human nature, and this correspond with the aim of multi-cultural education - ‘respect for the human rights and dignity.’ Especially, since childhood is an opportune period to develop a sense of identity and understanding of others, education through multi-cultural children’s literature can be an effective way to establish a proper perception and attitude toward a multicultural society. When the character of a multicultural group became the main character of a story, it is desirable for the character to help acquire a positive identity for minority group readers. To effectively cope with the multicultural education, the education curriculum and textbooks should be effectively organized. As a result of review of the current curriculum, however, Korean language textbook is not relevant with multicultrual education, and few multicultrual stories were contained in the textbook. To maximize the performance of multicultural education, it is needed to properly integrate the Objective-Oriented Textbook Structure and the Text-Oriented Textbook Structure.
