국문 초록

본 연구는 학습자들의 시 읽기 활동이 활발해지기 위한 방법으로 ‘비유’와 관련된 지식의 새로운 진술 방식을 모색하고자 하였다. 국가 수준의 교육과정은 비유의 효과가 작품의 감상으로까지 이어질 것을 요청하고 있었으나, 실제로 교과서에 구현된 바는 일반적인 차원의 설명을 바탕으로 하여 추상적인 차원에서의 효과를 언급하는 것이 대부분이었다. 이러한 한계를 극복하고자 소쉬르의 ‘연상관계’를 참고하여 전문 독자의 비유 읽기를 분석한 결과 비유 관련 지식의 조작적 정의로 다음과 같은 대안을 제시하였다. 1) 비유는 원관념이나 보조 관념에 대해 더 자세히 살펴볼 것을 요구하는 표현 행위이다. 2) 비유는 원관념이나 보조 관념을 특정한 맥락 위에서 이해할 것을 요구하는 표현 행위이다. 3) 비유는 원관념을 통해 보조 관념의 새로운 측면을, 보조 관념을 통해 원관념의 새로운 측면을 바라보게 하는 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 4) 비유는 독자가 그것의 좋고 나쁨을 평가할 수 있는 표현 행위이다.

영문 초록

This research has a purpose to prepare new style of knowledge-statement in Modern Poetry Education, especially on metaphor. For this purpose this research compared National curriculum and textbooks and essays of professional readers. The results of research are：National curriculum demands that effect of metaphor is related to enjoying a poem. But, in textbook of primary school and middle school, knowledge-statements about metaphor and its effect are rather generalized and abstract than connecting with a poem itself. Contrasting with these results, reading metaphor of professional readers is more detailed and plentiful. Because they have sufficient experiences about ‘tenor’ and ‘vehicle’ of metaphor in the poem. These results tell us that abstracted and generalized statement of metaphor-knowledge is not available to be tractive for learners to explore the world of poem; the invisible world. So this research suggested alternative style of knowledge-statement on metaphor. 1) Metaphor needs readers to palpate both tenor and vehicle. 2) Metaphor needs readers to build new contexts about tenor or vehicle. 3) Metaphor contrive effects that new thought or feature of tenor or vehicle which readers had not recognized in ordinary life. 4) Metaphor is what readers can evaluate. These alternative statements could make leaners’ reading poetry more active and grow leaners’ competencies of exploring the world and themselves.
