국문 초록

김수영 시에 나타난 구체적인 유토피아 의식은 그의 삶에서 전쟁체험으로 인한 ‘자유’의 구속과 필요성에 의해 발생하였음을 확인할 수 있다. 그에 따라 유토피아 의식의 한 축인 비판의 측면에서 1950년대 이승만 부패독재 정권시대에는 타락한 현실을 ‘뒤집어진 부정’이나 ‘헐벗은 거리’로 비판하거나, 이러한 타락한 현실에 저항하지 못하고 나약한 주체로 존재하는 자신을 비판하는 것으로 나타난다. 4·19혁명 이후 1960년대 박정희 군부독재 시대에서는 자유와 민주가 억압되는 현실에 대해 일체의 부정정신에 입각하여 군부독재 체제를 부정하거나, 억압적 정치체제에 비판하지 못하는 나약한 소시민적 자신에 대하여 자조적 풍자를 감행하고 있다. 이러한 비판을 바탕으로 제시된 유토피아 의식으로 어느 정도 자유롭게 표현할 수 있는 4·19혁명 기간 속에서 김수영은 유토피아 사회상에 입각한 의식을 시와 산문을 통해 표출하는데, 먼저 민족과 민중에 기반한 자유민주주의 실현을 추구하고 있다. 또 다른 한편으로는 쿠바 혁명을 이야기하는 가운데 우리나라도 사회주의화 될 필요가 있음을 언급하면서 사회주의 의식에 입각한 언론자유의 필요성을 강력하게 피력하고 있다. 따라서 김수영 시의 유토피아 의식은 민족과 민중에 기반한 자유민주주의 의식에서 출발하여 사회주의 사상으로 나아갔다고 할 수 있고, 역사적 현실에서 그것이 이루어지기 힘듦을 경험하면서 그의 전문 분야인 문학예술 영역에서의 언론과 표현의 자유를 극단적으로 피력하고 있었다라고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

It can be seen that the concrete utopian consciousness that appeared in Kim Soo-young's poems was caused by the restriction and necessity of freedom due to the war experience in his life. Therefore, in terms of criticism, which is one axis of the utopian consciousness, in the era of the corrupted dictatorial government of Syngman Rhee in the 1950s, he criticized the corrupted reality as 'inverted negation' or 'naked street', or criticized himself as a weak subject unable to resist the corrupted reality. In the era of Park Chung-hee's military dictatorship in the 1960s after the April 19 Revolution, he denied the military dictatorship system based on the spirit of complete denial of the reality where freedom and democracy were suppressed, or he conducted self-mocking satires about himself as a weak petit bourgeois who could not criticize the oppressive political system. With the utopian consciousness presented based on the criticism as such, in the period of the April 19 Revolution when thoughts could be expressed freely to some extent, Kim Soo-young expressed his consciousness based on his utopian image of society through poetry and proses. First, he pursued the realization of liberal democracy based on the nation and the people. On the other hand, while talking about the Cuban Revolution, he strongly stated the necessity of freedom of the press based on socialist consciousness, mentioning that Korea also should be socialized. Therefore, it can be said that the utopian consciousness in Kim Soo-young's poems started from the consciousness of liberal democracy based on the nation and the people and progressed to the socialist ideology and that as Kim Soo-young experienced the historical reality where his ideology could be hardly realized, he was extremely stating the freedom of the press and expression in the area of literature and art, which is his specialty area.
