『관광학연구』에 게재된 관광 행동 연구 동향 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 수요자 중심으로의 관광 패러다임 변화에 대응하고 연구 패러다임에 대한 편향성 문제의 해결방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해서 관광학 분야에서 국내 유일의 우수 등재 학술지인 『관광학연구』를 대상으로 2012년부터 2021년 사이 게재된 52편의 관광 행동 관련 연구 동향을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 관광 행동과 직접적으로 관련된 연구의 수는 전반적인 감소세에 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 연구논문의 세부 연구주제별 분석에서는 구매행동, 공유 행동, 시민 행동 등 의사결정과 관련한 한 연구와 지속가능성 및 관광 정보와 관련된 연구 순으로 높은 비율을 차지하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 관광 행동 연구의 86.5%는 양적 연구 방법을 사용하였는데, 이는 한국 관광연구자들의 정량적 연구방법론에 대한 선호가 아직도 매우 강하다는 것을 잘 보여준다. 그러나 관광자의 행동의 온전한 이해를 위해서는 질적 측면의 행동 연구에 대한 접근이 좀 더 적극적으로 이루어져야 할 것으로 보인다. 이와 더불어 매년 다양한 주제로 연구가 진행되었기 때문에 게재 연도 별 특정 연구 주제가 다루어졌다고 보기는 어려우며, 다만 지속적으로 꾸준한 연구가 이루어지고 있는 의사결정에 관한 연구, 지속가능성 및 관광정보 관련 연구, 문화 예술 분야의 관광 행동 연구뿐만 아니라 장애인 관광 행동, 위험 지각 연구 등 사회⋅경제적 이슈에 따른 특징적인 주제를 가진 연구 또한 적지 않게 이루어지고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 분석을바탕으로 이 연구는 국내 관광 행동 연구에 대한 논의 이후 향후 다양한 연구방법론의 활용을 통한 관광 행동 연구의 방향을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study examined 52 research trends related to tourism behavior published between 2012 and 2021 in the Journal of Tourism Sciences, Korea's only class-one tourism journal. The purpose of this research is to examine and identify trends in tourism behavior research published in the Journal. The analysis confirmed that the number of studies directly related to tourism behavior was on the decline overall. In the analysis by research topic, purchasing behavior, sharing behavior, and civic behavior were the most widely published, followed by behaviors related to sustainability and tourism information search behavior. In terms of methods, 86.5 percent of tourism behavior studies used quantitative methods, indicating that Korean tourism researchers continue to favor quantitative methods. However, in order to fully comprehend the behavior of tourists, more qualitative and mixed methods must be used. Because research was conducted on a variety of topics each year, specific research topics by year of publication were not identified. In addition to these main topics, studies on the behaviors of disabled tourists and risk perception studies are mentioned. Based on the results, this study presented the future tourism behavior research directions using diverse research methodologies.
