당암포 수중유적 출수 청자 생산지 연구

국문 초록

태안 당암포 수중유적은 2016년 11월 압수된 유물과 도굴범의 검거로 존재가 알려졌다. 이후 국립해양문화재연구소는 2016년 12월 긴급탐사를 시작으로 2017년과 2018년 1차, 2차 발굴조사를 완료하였다. 출수유물은 106점 중 청자 70점, 백자 33점, 도기 2점 닻돌 1점이 확인되었다. 당암포 해역은 해양지리적으로 17세기 개통된 안면운하를 통해 안흥량 해역으로 이동하는 항로로 알려져 있다. 하지만 당암포 수중유적에서는 동일 유형의 고려시대 청자가 다수 확인되었다. 청자 중 12세기 무문 청자접시 1점은 해남 진산리 일대에서 나머지 청자는 14세기 강진 사당리 일대 동일 가마터에서 생산된 것으로 보인다. 이렇듯 당암포 해역에서 해남과 강진 일대 생산된 청자가 확인되는 것으로 보아, 조선시대 안면운하가 개통되기 이전부터 당암포 해역은 해남, 강진에서 개경으로 이동하는 항로로 이용되었을 것으로 추정된다.

영문 초록

Through the confiscated relics and the arrest of a thief, the underwater remains of Dangampo in Taean were revealed in November 2016. Afterwards, the National Institute of Marine Cultural Heritage undertook the emergency exploration in December 2016 and completed the first and second excavations in 2017 and 2018 respectively. As a result, out of 106 artifacts, 70 celadon, 33 white porcelain, 2 potteries and 1 anchor stone were discovered. In terms of maritime geography, Dangampo Sea is known as a route to Anheungryang Sea through the Anmyeon Canal opened in the 17th century. However, many same objects of celadon from the Goryeo Dynasty were discovered in the underwater remains of Dangampo, Among the celadon, a 12th century celadon dish seems to had been produced in Jinsan-ri, Haenam, and the rest of the celadon appear to had been produced in the same kiln site in Sadang-ri, Gangjin in the 14th century. According to the fact that the celadon produced in the Haenam and Gangjin areas is found in Dangampo Sea area, it can be assumed that Dangampo Sea area had been used as a route from Haenam and Gangjin to Gaegyeong before the opening of Anmyeon Canal during the Joseon Dynasty.
