국문 초록

김려는 타고난 작가이다. 그것도 전업 작가에 가깝다. 실제로 그는 따로 道學에 관한 견해를 밝히거나, 다른 학자들과 논쟁을 벌인 기록을 남긴 적이 거의 없다. 평생을 오직 올곧게 창작과 작품 수집에 전념했을 뿐이다. 관념적 성리학자가 아닌 치열한 작가로서의 삶이 김려 문학의 형식과 내용을 결정짓게 했고, 이것은 다음 장에서 다루는 김려 문학의 미의식 세계 전반에도 그대로 투영되어 나타난다. 그는 직관과 情의 문학론에 기반한 예민한 감수성에 의한 창작을 수행했다. 김려 문학의 미적 범주는 野趣的 미의식의 투영, 滑稽美와 艶情的 미의식의 구현, 悲壯美의 표출로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 김려 문학의 미의식의 모든 범주들은 기본적으로 휴머니즘에서 출발한다. 김려의 대다수 작품들의 창작 의식의 저변에는 휴머니즘이 내포되어 있다는 말이다. 우리가 앞서서 살펴본 김려 문학의 미적 범주들이 모두 그러하다. 주제적인 면에서 볼 때, 김려 문학의 진수는 소외된 인간군상에 대한 휴머니즘적 접근이다. 그의 작품에는 소외된 여성 계급, 변방의 하층민, 심지어 천민인 백정에 대한 관심과 애정이 지속적으로 나타난다. 심지어 그는 만민 평등 의식을 고취하기도 한다. 김려 문학의 미의식이 이러한 휴머니즘에 기반을 두고 있기 때문에 더욱 가치가 있다. 작가의 주제 의식이나 창작 의도에 대한 고려가 없는 미학 자체만을 위한 미의식 탐구는, 자칫 내면이 부재한 외피만의 연구에 빠질 수 있는 위험이 존재하기 때문이다. 김려의 시작품에 전반에 나타난 표현기법은 대체로 사실적인 묘사가 두드러진다고 할 수 있다. 이것은 기본적으로 작가가 자신의 작품을 구체적이고 리얼하게 묘사하려는 의지가 강하게 작용한 결과이고, 그의 문예미학이 이루어낸 커다란 성과라고 할 수 있다. 김려가 이렇게 사실적인 기법을 활용할 수 있었던 요인 중에 하나는 바로 주석을 적절하게 활용했기 때문이다. 따라서 우리는 주석과 함께 김려의 작품을 읽을 때, 그의 작품 세계를 더욱 사실적이고 구체적으로 파악할 수 있다. 본고에서는 김려 문학의 미의식 전반에 대하여 개략적으로 다루었다. 이제 이러한 검토를 시작으로, 앞으로 김려 그룹 전반과 개별 작가에 대한 미학적 검증이 이루어지길 기대해본다.

영문 초록

Kim Ryo was a talented writer. He was almost a full-time writer. Practically, he had never expressed his thoughts on moral philosophy or argued with other scholars regarding that matter. This upright man just had concentrated on writing and collecting pieces for his whole life. His life as a fierce writer, rather than an ideal neo-Confucian scholar decided the types and content of his literature. This will be explained at the next chapter that deals with the aesthetic sense in his literature. He has created literature work based on his intuition, literary theory of ‘jeong(情),’ and keen sensitivity. The scope of Kim s literature consist of reflecting the rusticity in aesthetic consciousness, realizing aesthetic sense of satire and eroticism, and expressing tragic beauty. His aesthetic sense in all his literature begins with humanism. In other words, his creation consciousness in most of the pieces contains humanism. The scope of the aesthetic in his literature mentioned earlier is the same. When it comes to a subject, the key of Kim s literature is the way of human approaching to the isolated group of people. his attention and affection for the isolated woman, lower class people, and butchers who were the lowest level is continuously found in his literature. Futhermore, he claimed that all the people are equal. Because his aesthetic consciousness in the literature is based on humanism, his work is more valuable. To research of aesthetic sense only for an aesthetic study without writer s own themes or creation intentions is risky as it can become a superficial research without inner contents. The overall expression technique in his poems is a realistic description. It is a result of his strong will to describe his work more detailed and realistically. It is also a huge achievement of his literature aesthetic study. One of the reasons that Kim Ryo could use the realistic description is because he properly used annotations. When we read his poems with annotations, we can figure out his career and concept of the work better and more concretely. In this article, the overall concept of Kim s aesthetic sense in the literature was covered. Based on this, I hope that kim and his group would be aesthetically verified in future.
