국문 초록

본 연구는 포스트 코로나 이후 한국 개신교 예배는 어떻게 될 것인가라는 단순하면서도 광범위한 질문에서 시작되었다. 본격적으로 위드 코로나 시대를 맞이하게 되었지만, 사실상 코로나 이전의 일상으로 돌아간다는 것은 거의 불가능해졌다. 특히 한국 교회의 경우 코로나19 발발 초기에 집단 감염을 일으킨 사이비 집단으로 인한 역풍을 만나면서 현장 예배 중단이라는 초유의 사태와 함께 주요 감찰 대상으로 전락하고 말았다. 한편 내부적으로는 무조건 온라인/비대면 예배를 드리게 되면서 예배의 본질과 내용보다 방법과 기술이 우선시되는 기현상이 지속되고 있다. 이러한 때일수록 한국 개신교 예배의 뿌리를 돌아보며 가장 기본적인 주일 예배의 구조와 내용을 분석하는 비판적 성찰이 중요하다고 생각한다. 비예전적 배경에서 시작된 한국 개신교 예배가 예배 회복 운동의 영향 아래 국내 예배학자들이 배출되면서 이제는 주요 교단마다 예식서를 가지고 있을 정도로 발전되었기 때문이다. 본 연구의 범위는 대한예수교장로회 통합, 대한예수교장로회 합동, 한국기독교장로회, 대한예수교장로회 고신, 기독교대한감리회, 기독교대한성결교회에서 발간한 예식서에 수록된 주일 예배로 한정하며, 사중 구조(Fourfold Order of Worship) 관점에서 살펴보고자 한다. 또한 2018년에 개정 발간한 미국 장로교의 공동 예배서(Book of Common Worship)에 나타난 다중 언어와 아이콘 사용을 언급하면서 추후 예배서에 담겨야 할 유연성과 수용성의 발전 가능성을 고찰하게 될 것이다. 이 연구를 시작으로 기존 예배의 다양한 영역에 대한 연구와 비판적 성찰을 통해 한국 개신교 내에 참된 예배의 개혁이 일어나길 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study starts with a simple yet broad question of what will happen to Korean Protestant worship after COVID-19. Although we are still living with COVID-19, it is almost impossible to imagine that we will be able to return to our daily life as it was before COVID-19. While meeting a headwind of a pseudoreligion groups that spread mass infections in the early stages of the outbreak of COVID-19, the Korean church had to suspend on-site worship for the first time in its history and has become a major target of government inspections. On the other hand, the Korean church was required to introduce onine/untact worship and ended up prioritizing the methods and techniques of worship over the essence and content of worship. At this time, it is more important to look back on the roots of Korean Protestant worship and to critically reflect the structure and content of Lord’s Day worship. Though Korean Protestant worship began with non-liturgical background it has developed to the point where every major denomination now has a book of common worship and there are many Korean worship scholars writing material that has been influenced by the Liturgical Movement. The scope of this study is limited to Lord’s Day worship liturgies outlined in the books of common worship published by the Presbyterian Church of Korea(PCK), the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Korea(GAPCK), the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea(PROK), the Kosin Presbyterian Church in Korea(KOSIN), the Korean Methodist Church(KMC), the Korea Evangelical Holiness Church(KEHC). And we will look at them from the point of view of the Fourfold Order of Worship. In addition, we will refer to the use of multiple languages and icons in the Book of Common Worship of the Presbyterian Church(USA) which was revised and published in 2018. We will examine the possibility of developing flexibility and receptivity in future Korean worship books. It is expected that, beginning with this study, any reform of true worship for the Korean Protestant church must happen with the help of research and critical reflection regarding various areas of current worship.
