영문 초록

Craftsmanship is an skilled ability to make upmost tools that are needed in daily lives. It started since primitive age to nowadays, collaborating with IT-tec in 4th industrial revolution to make a innovative crafts endlessly. Recent event of conceptual arts and object, that excludes handmade, made essence of craftsmanship to a dichotomy of function/non-function, and pure art/ craftsmanship confrontation. I suggest four types of alternative to define the essence of modern woodcraft from this dichotomy and woodcraft’s Identity from essence of craftsmanship. The first is to extense by collaborating with other majors. Second is to expand by digital technology. Third is the extensibility of woodcraft’s function and matter. And the last not the least, expanding through culture. By this extensibility, woodcraft can establish itself and be part of founding the modern craftsmanship’s identity.
