국문 초록

이 연구는 의도성을 지닌 별명생산자가 별명소유자에 대한 부정적 별명을 생산하는 인지 과정에 작용하는 은유와 환유의 유형과 특성을 살핀 것이다. 별명이 만들어지는 과정에서 은유와 환유는 다양한 유형으로 조합하여 작용한다. 부정적 별명이 만들어지는 과정에서 작용하는 은유와 환유는 일반적인 별명이 만들어지는 과정에서 작용한 것과 차이가 존재한다. 일반적으로 별명은 별명소유자를 부르거나 지시하기 위한 목적으로 생산되며 재미, 타당성, 편이성, 변별성 등을 가져야 별명으로서 생명력을 유지할 수 있다. 하지만 부정적 별명은 별명소유자에 대한 부정적 인식을 강조하려는 별명생산자의 의도가 중요하게 작용하여 변별성이 강조된다. 별명생산자에게는 재미와 타당성이 있지만, 별명소유자에게는 재미와 타당성이 적으며, 별명사용자의 입장에서는 편이성은 떨어진다. 부정적 별명은 별명소유자의 부정적 언행을 바탕으로 환유를 활성화하여 별명을 생성하는 경우와 별명소유자의 이름을 바탕으로 환유를 활성화하여 별명을 생성하는 경우가 많은 것이 특징이다.

영문 초록

This study examines the types and characteristics of metaphor and metonymy acting on the cognitive process in which an intentional nickname producer produces a negative nickname for the nickname owner. In the process of creating nicknames, metaphors and metonyms work in combination in various types. There is a difference between the metaphor and metonymy that operate in the process of creating a negative nickname and the one that operates in the process of creating a general nickname. A nickname is produced for the purpose of calling or instructing the owner of the nickname, and it must have fun, validity, convenience, and distinctiveness to maintain vitality as a nickname. But, in the case of negative nicknames, the intention of the nickname producer to emphasize the negative perception of the nickname owner plays an important role, and thus the distinctiveness is emphasized. There is fun and validity for the nickname producer, but the fun and validity are less for the nickname owner, and the convenience is low for the nickname user. Negative nicknames activate metonymy based on the negative words and actions of the nickname owner. And there are a lot of metonymy that generate nicknames by activating metonymy based on the name of the nickname owner.
