국문 초록

본 연구는 냉전시기 대만해협을 사이에 두고 중국과 대만이 살포한 삐라를 중심으로, 중국과 대만 간의 심리전을 분석한다. 주지하다시피, 대만해협은 1949년 국공내전에서 패한 국민당이 대만으로 본거지를 옮긴 이후부터 지금까지 냉전과 열전이 혼재해있는 공간으로 남아있다. 대만의 ‘본토 수복’과 중국의 ‘대만 해방’이라는 기치아래 발생한 고령두 전투, 제1차 대만해협위기 및 제2차 대만해협위기 등은 열전과 냉전이 교차된 갈등의 대표적 예라 할 수 있다. 특히, 제2차 대만해협위기 이후 양측의 갈등은 대만해협이라는 지역을 중심으로 벌어진 국지전이자, 양측의 육·해·공군이 합동으로 전개한 전면전의 성격을 동시에 갖는다. 또한 상대를 향해 대규모의 포탄을 발사한 포격전이자 다양한 형태의 선무방송, 선전보도, 삐라살포가 이루어진 심리전의 성격도 나타난다. 양측은 자신의 이념과 사상을 선전하고 상대의 전의 상실과 항복을 유도하기 위해 전방위적인 심리전을 전개하였다. 그중 삐라전은 다양한 운송수단과 제작기법 및 기획 전략의 발전으로 인해 보다 많은 적들에게 노출될 수 있었다는 점에서 매우 효과적인 심리전의 방식으로 인식되어왔다. 삐라는 넓은 지역에 광범위한 심리전을 펼칠 수 있는 방법이자, 신문·잡지·라디오·방송 등 제도적 매체를 접할 수 없는 일반사람들에게 정보를 전달할 수 있는 비제도적 매체로서 뛰어난 접근성을 지녔기 때문이다. 이 글의 목적은 크게 두 가지로 구분된다. 첫 번째는 대만해협에서 진행된 중국과 대만의 삐라전을 분석하여, 양측의 전투 목적과 운용 전략을 분석한다. 두 번째는 문헌과 자료의 분석을 통해, 중국과 대만이 운용한 다양한 삐라 살포 방식을 정리하고, 각각의 살포 방식이 지닌 특징을 도출해낸다. 세 번째는 중국과 대만의 삐라에 담긴 주제의 전형성을 추출하고 이를 분류함으로써, 각 삐라의 제작목적과 삐라 속에 담긴 논리를 추적한다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the psychological warfare between China and Taiwan, focusing on propaganda leaflets distributed by China and Taiwan about the Taiwan Strait during the Cold War. As is well known, the Taiwan Strait has remained a space where the Cold War and the hot war coexist since the Kuomintang, who was defeated in the Civil War in 1949, moved to Taiwan. The Battle of Goringdu which took place several times under the banners of Taiwan s Restoration of the Mainland and China s Taiwan Liberation , the 1st Taiwan Strait Crisis and the 2nd Taiwan Strait Crisis, are representative examples of conflicts between the Cold War and the Cold War. In particular, the conflict between the two sides after the second Taiwan Strait Crisis has the characteristics of both a local war centered on the Taiwan Strait and an all-out war jointly conducted by the land, sea, and air forces of both sides. In addition, the nature of a bombardment war in which large-scale shells were fired at the opponent and a psychological warfare in which various types of consolidation broadcasts, propaganda reports, and leaflet spraying were performed. Both sides conducted an all-round psychological warfare to promote their ideology and ideology and induce the other s loss and surrender. In particular, propaganda leaflets has been recognized as a very effective psychological warfare method in that it could be exposed to more enemies due to the development of various transportation methods, production techniques, and planning strategies. This is because a leaflet has excellent accessibility as a method to conduct a wide range of psychological warfare in a wide area and as a non-institutional medium that can deliver information to ordinary people who cannot access institutional media such as newspapers, magazines, radio, and broadcasting. The purpose of this article is mainly divided into two parts. The first is to analyze the Chinese-Taiwan warfare in the Taiwan Strait, and analyze the combat objectives and operational strategies of both sides. Second is to organize various leaflet spraying methods operated by China and Taiwan, and derive the characteristics of each spraying method through the analysis of literature and data. Third is to trace the purpose of each leaflet and the logic contained in the leaflet by extracting the typicality of the themes contained in the Chinese and Taiwanese flyers and classifying them.
