국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 청소년이 탈비행을 성취하는 과정에서 발현되는 중개자아와 선한 정체성의 역할을 단일사례로 탐색하는 것이다. 탈비행 과정의 핵심 변인으로 중개자아와 선한 정체성을 선정하였다. Maruna, S.의 이야기 회복모형을 기반으로 비행자의 표류단계에서 나타나는 핵심일화, 중개자아 및 선한 정체성을 내용 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 핵심일화는 내담자의 학교생활, 진로 미결정, 교사 및 교우관계를 중심으로 나타났고, 중개자아는 ‘주관적 판단력’, ‘퇴학을 유보하는 신중한 태도’, ‘신뢰 회복에 대한 내적 욕구’, ‘솔직함과 수용력’, ‘답답함을 견디는 힘’, ‘진로 결정 유지력’ 등이었다. 그리고 선한 정체성은 ‘정당한 방식의 여행 경비 마련’, ‘미래의 선한 삶 그림’, ‘리더 캐릭터 역할 추구’, ‘선한 사람이 되고 싶은 마음’ 등으로 확인하였다. 궁극적으로 내담자는 탈비행을 유지면서 고교 3년을 졸업하여 탈비행 회복단계에 성공적으로 이르렀다. 본 연구는 비행 원인에 방점을 두는 전통적 비행 상담과는 반대로 탈비행 시작점에 있는 비행 청소년이 중개자아와 선한 정체성의 인지 변인을 발휘하며 삶의 장애물을 극복하는 과정을 단일사례로 제시한 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This paper aims to trace human agency and good identity, manifested in a process of desistance that a juvenile delinquent has achieved. For this study, I chose human agency and good identity as core variables of a process of desistance and analyzed the juvenile delinquent’s life narratives, his human agency, and good identity, which were shown in his drifting-stage between obstacles and recoveries, based on Maruna’s theory, the Prototypical Reform Narrative Model. As a result, it is founded that his life narratives mainly contained about his school life, career indecision, and relationships with his teachers and friends; his human agency had an ability to subjectively decide, discreet behaviors to defer leaving his school, his inner desire to restore trust, a status to be honest and open, and a power to endure stuffiness and his decision for his future; and his good identity indicated as proper methods to save money for travels, envisioning a good future, desiring to be a leader and a good person. The end of this personal narrative showed me that the teenager finished his school, staying his desistance. Unlike traditional methods to counsel that focused on causes of delinquency, this study achieved to show a case study that a juvenile delinquent who stood at a start point of the desistance overcame obstacles in his life with his human agency and good identity.
