국문 초록

구체적인 사물을 대상으로 읊은 詠物詩는 대부분의 문인들이 한두 수라도 지은 바 있는 한시 장르이다. 영물시를 짓는 동기는 크게 ‘사적인 사유’와 ‘공적인 사유’로 나뉘는데, 전자는 개인의 감정을 토로하거나 심성을 수양하는 경우이고, 후자는 사회에 경계를 전하거나 정보를 보완하는 경우이다. 그런데 후대로 갈수록 공적인 사유 중에서도 ‘정보 전달’의 가치를 유념하여 지은 영물시가 눈에 띈다. 이 논문은 19세기 조선 문인의 영물시에 관한 담론과 그 비평의 특징을 주목하였다. 19세기 조선 문인의 영물시 담론이 어떠한 흐름 속에서 이루어졌는지 살피기 위해, 먼저 18세기 중후반 동아시아 문화권의 문인들이 개진한 영물시 관련 담론을 개괄하였다. 이 시기 한･중･일 문인들의 詩話나 書簡에는 영물시를 다작하는 태도에 대한 우려와, 영물시 장르 자체에 대한 심도 있는 고찰이 공존하고 있었다. 여기에서 영물시를 여타 사료의 정보를 보충하는 매개로 본 견해는 특히 주목할 만하다. 분량과 내용 면에서 여타 19세기 시화를 압도하는 南羲采의 『龜磵詩話』와 李圭景의 『詩家點燈』에는 영물시에 대한 입장이 비교적 또렷이 남아 있다. 남희채는 영물시로 조선 고유의 풍습을 면밀히 검토하고 바로잡았으며, 이규경은 영물시로 역대 사료가 담지 못한 新舊 정보를 수정･보충하였다. 남희채와 이규경의 영물시 비평은, 역사와 만물을 제대로 학습하기 위한 심화 자료로 영물시를 부각하였다는 점에서 19세기 동아시아 문화권 영물시 담론사에서 비중 있는 위치를 차지한다. 아울러 『구간시화』와 『시가점등』에서 영물시를 비평한 항목은, ‘흥미’와 ‘교훈’이라는 두 가지 요소를 갖춘 원천콘텐츠를 풍부하게 제공하여 문화콘텐츠적 가치가 높다는 사실을 특기할 만하다.

영문 초록

Yeongmul-shi(詠物詩), which describes objects in detail, is a genre of general Chinese poetry, and most writers wrote at least one or two Yeongmul-shi(詠物詩). The reasons for writing Yeongmul-shi are largely divided into personal reasons and professional reasons . Personal reasons include expressing one s feelings or cultivating one s mind, while professional reasons include disseminating lessons to society or providing information. However, as time went on, more and more Yeongmul-shi was created with the importance of ‘the function of providing information’. This paper focuses on the characteristics of discourses and criticisms on Yeongmul-shi by Joseon writers from the 19th century. First, the views expressed by East Asian writers on Yeongmul-shi in the mid to late 18th century are summarized. During this period, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese writers were worried about the tendency to use Yeongmul-shi in criticisms and letters too often, or they deeply contemplated the genre of Yeongmul-shi itself. Among them, the view that considers Yeongmul poetry as another source that supplements information from public sources is particularly noteworthy. Gugan-Shihua(龜磵詩話, by Nam Hui-chae(南羲采)) and Shiga-Jumdeung(詩家點燈, by Lee Gyu-Kung(李圭景)) which are the longest and richest Korean criticisms contain relatively detailed views of Yeongmul-shi. Through the Yeongmul-shi, Nam Hui-chae reviewed and corrected the unique customs of Joseon in detail, and Lee Gyu-Kung corrected some old information in the books of many generations and supplemented some new information that was not in the existing books. Nam Hui-chae and Lee Gyu-Kung considered Yeongmul-shi to be an intensive materials containing information about history and various objects. Therefore, their Yeongmul-shi criticism should be noted in the 19th century East Asian Yeongmul-shi discourse. In addition, the criticism of Yeongmul-shi in Gugan-Shihua and Shiga-Jumdeung has a high value of cultural content as it provides abundant original contents with two elements: ‘interest’ and ‘learning’.
