다음세대와의 상호적 소통을 위한 교사 역량의 중요도

국문 초록

교회 안의 다음세대는 이전 세대와는 다른 문화에서 성장해왔다. 교회가 이 사실만 인정한 채 차이를 조율하고 포용하기 위한 노력에는 수동적인 편이다. 만일 교회들이 이러한 변화들을 수용하지 못한다면, 교회 체제 안의 배제는 고착화되고 교회학교의 역동성은 점차 약화될 수 있다. 상호문화주의는 다른 문화 속에서 자란 다음세대의 문화적 고유성을 인정하고, 다음세대와의 상호적 소통을 지향하는데 유용한 논거가 된다. 따라서 기독교적 상호문화주의에 기초해 교회학교는 다양한 문화적 정체성을 가진 세대들이 함께 성숙해가는 ‘상호관계적 신앙공동체’(영적 측면)요 ‘상호작용적 학습공동체’(교육적 측면)이자 ‘상호주관적 대화공동체’(관계적 측면)로 정의하였다. 또한 새로운 공동체들을 이끌어갈 교사들에게 필요한 역량들은 하나님과의 관계에서 출발하여 타인과의 관계로 확장해가는 ‘상호관계적 신앙성찰력’(7개 역량)과 몰입할 수 있는 활동을 제공하는 ‘상호작용적 학습설계력’(7개 역량), 차이를 인정하고 갈등을 해결하기 위해 동등한 개인으로서 협력하는 ‘상호주관적 의사소통력’(7개 역량)으로 재개념화하였다. 이를 토대로 14개 교회에 속한 교사들(N=928명)의 역량을 조사하고, 역량의 중요도-실행도 분석(IPA) 매트릭스를 통해 각 분면에 위치한 역량들을 제시하였다. 또한 교회가 역량 개발의 주요 원천인 부서 단위의 형식적, 비형식적 활동들을 적극적으로 후원할 필요가 있음을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 교사들의 역량 실행도와 봉사 참여도, 봉사 만족도 간의 상관분석을 통해 봉사가 ‘시혜적 행위’라기보다는 ‘호혜적 행위’임을 입증하였다.

영문 초록

The up and coming generation within the church is yet another that has grown up within a different culture from its prede-cessor. While the church recognizes this fact, remains passive in its efforts to coordinate and embrace that difference. If churches continue to fail to meaningfully act to accommodate these changes, it will solidify the exclusion within church sys-tems and gradually weaken the dynamics of church schools. Interculturalism is a useful theoretical rationale to recognize the cultural uniqueness of the next generation and aim for mutual communication with the next generation. Based on Christian in-terculturalism, church schools are defined as an “interrelational faith community” (spiritual aspect) as well as an “interactive learning community” (educational aspect) and “intersubjective dialogue community” (relational aspect) where generations from various cultural identities mature together. In addition, the competencies that are necessary for teachers to lead the new communities are reconceptualized as “interrelational faith reflection competencies” (7 competencies) from the rela-tionship with God and expanding to the relationship with others, along with interactive learning design competencies (7 com-petencies) to facilitate interactions and “intersubjective com-municative competencies” (7 competencies) to collaborate as equal individuals trying to recognize the differences and solve the conflicts. Based on these, teachers from 14 churches (N=928) were sur-veyed for their competencies and, through the Importance-Performance Analysis matrix, competencies are suggested for each quadrant. Churches are also suggested to give strong sup-port to the formal and/or informal department level activities that are the main source of competency development. Lastly, through correlation analysis of the teachers‘ competency per-formance, participation and satisfaction, it is revealed that serv-ice practices are “reciprocal actions” rather than “providing actions.”
