국문 초록

죽음이란 시대를 초월하여 인간에게 항상 두려움과 공포의 대상이 되어왔고, 이에 따라 죽음의 공포로부터 벗어나려는 인간의 노력도 지속적으로 있어왔다. 삶과 죽음이란 분리시켜 생각할 수 없는 필연성을 가짐에도 불구하고 인간이 죽음의 문제를 기피하고 죽음에 대해서 생각하기조차 싫어하는 것은 죽음 자체보다는 죽음으로부터 오는 공포 때문일 것이다. 즉, 죽음의 문제는 죽음이란 무엇이냐가 아니고 죽음을 어떻게 받아들이냐에 있다. 이와 같이 죽음의 문제는 죽음에 대한 인식이나 태도이므로 죽음의 공포는 자연적인 것이 아니라 학습을 통하여 극복할 수 있는 것이다. 죽음 준비교육과 죽음에 대한 인식조사에 관한 연구물들은 대부분 노인을 대상으로 하고 있기 때문에, 전 연령에 걸쳐 죽음에 대한 태도는 어떠한지를 밝혀 죽음 준비교육에 대한 정확한 요구를 분석할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 성별, 연령별, 종교별로 유층 표집을 하여 죽음에 대한 일반적인 태도의 경향을 알아보고, 이를 기반으로 죽음 대비교육에 대한 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 이와 같은 목적을 위해서 본 연구에서 다루고자 하는 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1) 성별에 따라 죽음에 대한 태도에는 차이를 나타내는가? 2) 연령별로 죽음에 대한 태도에는 차이를 나타내는가? 3) 종교별로 죽음에 대한 태도에는 차이를 나타내는가?

영문 초록

Beyond all ages, man has always been subjected to horror of death, thus man s endeavor to extricate himself from the horror of death has persisted. The reason why man evades facing the problem of death or even refuses to think about it, although life and death have inevitability in itself so as not to be separated from death, is because it is horror man senses not death. In other words, the problem of death lies not on death itself but how man perceives it. Likewise, the problem of death is the perception and attitude toward death that the horror of death is not something of natural phenomenons but something that can be overcome by training. Study about the preparatory training for death and how a person perceives it is mainly for senior citizens that it is necessary to analyze the exact needs for the preparatory training for death by identifying their attitude toward death through out all ages. Therefore this research gathers a pool of samples according to gender, ages, religions to find out the general attitude toward death, and based upon this finding, it will provide the basic data for the preparatory training for death. To accomplish this objective, the subjects the research wants to explore are as such. (1)Is gender difference affects the attitude toward death? (2) Is age difference affects the attitude toward death? 3) Is religious difference affects the attitude toward death?
