한국의 교단 여성사에 나타난 여성교육의 실상과 과제

국문 초록

본 논문에서 한국의 대표적인 교단들의 여성사와 에큐메니칼 여성사에 나타난 여성교육의 실상을 분석하면서 새롭게 배울 수 있었던 점을 밝히고 교회 여성교육의 과제들을 몇 가지 제시하고자 한다. 첫째, 여성들의 경험은 기록되고 기억되어 여성들의 역량강화를 위한 밑거름이 되어야 한다. 둘째, 여성의 관계지향성은 상호유익과 공동의 선을 추구하는 방식으로 개발되어야 한다. 셋째, 여성의 지도력은 다양하게 형성되어야 한다. 넷째, 교육 참여자들의 의견과 평가는 반드시 기록하여 교육의 자료로 활용되어야 한다. 다섯째, 여성교육의 대안적 모델은 주제의 일관성과 지속성을 유지하면서 모색되어야 한다. 교회 여성교육은 교단의 신학적 배경과 선교정책 그리고 개교회의 상황과 밀접한 관계를 갖고 있다. 이런 조건 속에서도 자치적인 교육모델을 개발하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 여성교육이 남성 중심의 교육에 동화되지 않고 성차별을 극복하는 비판적인 대안을 제시하려면 여성주의 교육의 성인지적 관점을 뚜렷하게 할 뿐만 아니라, 주제의 일관성과 지속성을 유지하는 교육활동의 틀을 마련하는 일도 필요하다. 교회 여성교육의 통합적인 교육구조는 이러한 교육활동의 모델을 마련하는 데 이상적인 조건을 구비하고 있다고 판단된다.

영문 초록

In the last decades of the 20th Century women’s education has articulated a gender sensitive feminist perspective. In former times people had spoken of women’s education, if it had been initiated by women or dedicated to them. But a feminist education, which is developed from the gender sensitive perspective, aims to analyze the sexism in the educational activity as a whole and to present an alternative model of education that is oriented to a gender equity and equality. The feminist education starts from the knowledge that the sexist-oriented education could distort women’s consciousness and prevent the development of society, even if the opportunity to women’s education would be widened and women would take part in various learning activities. Nowadays people put accent on the feminist education, because it can help to respect a gender difference and to realize the gender equity and equality, and it can therefore contribute to the development of the society and the state. In the article I have analyzed the reality of women’s education in retrospect on the history of the church women’s education and presented some tasks of women’s education in the future. I have aimed to overcome the sexism in the church women’s education and to search for some ways to self-! development of women and to the maturity of the church.
