뇌성마비아의 언어학습기능에 영향을 미치는 인지적 변인 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 뇌성마비아의 언어학습기능에 미치는 인지적 변인을 고찰하는데 그 목적이 있다. 첫째, 뇌성마비아들은 음성적 조음이 결여되면 정상적인 음운인식의 발달이 어려울 것이라고 예측할 수 있기 때문에 자신들의 운동 및 말의 장애로 인하여 소리 양식 분석과 어휘지식, 구문 및 담화의 이해와 같은 기술들과 구어 아동들 사이에서 읽기, 쓰기 능력을 발달시키기 위한 훈련이 요구된다. 둘째, 뇌성마비아의 기억 능력은 보다 낮을 것으로 예상할 수 있으며, 구어 아동을 대상으로 한 단기기억 연구에서 언어 단기기억 폭이 낮으면 낮은 읽기 결과를 보였는데 이것은 제한된 단기기억 용량 때문이 아니라 단기기억과 하위 구어의 시연에서 구어의 부호화 사이의 연결에 문제가 있을 것으로 예상할 수 있게 해 준다. 또한 읽기와 쓰기의 습득에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변인이 정보를 처리하고 저장하며 재생하는 기억능력이다. 셋째, 뇌성마비아는 배경으로부터 도형을 구별하는 능력이 일반아보다 열등하며, 크기 항상성에 대해서도 열등한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 경직성 뇌성마비아는 시각-운동 수행에서 낮은 수행을 보였으며, 전반적으로 뇌성마비아의 시지각 능력은 시지각 검사의 전 영역에서 일반아보다 매우 열등하다. 그러므로 시지각에 장애가 있는 경우에는 일상생활에서 많은 어려움을 겪게 되며 사물이나 문자를 볼 때 그것의 차이점은 물론 상호관계를 파악할 수 없기 때문에 읽기 장애나 쓰기 장애를 일으킨다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to contemplate the recognizable causes that can affect the ability for language learning for children with cerebral palsy. First, it can be predicted that development of normal phonological awareness is difficult for children with cerebral palsy due to the absence of voice articulation. Thus, because of their obstacles toward speaking and exercising, it is essential for these children to be educated in the analysis of sound form, vocabulary, sentence structure, understanding of conversation and finally, reading and writing with conversable children. Second, it can be thought that the memory ability of children with cerebral palsy could be low. The research concerned with short-term memory on language speaking children clearly showed that children with a shallow word memory width obtained poor reading results. It is assumed that this result is not because of restricted capacity of short-term memory, but problems based on the connection between the coding of spoken language in short-term memory and inferior spoken language. Furthermore, learning for reading and writing can be most affected by the memory ability which controls, stores and recalls incoming information. Third, children with cerebral palsy show inferior ability in dividing figures from a background compared to normal children, as well as in size homeostasis. Moreover, children with spastic type cerebral palsy showed low visual-motor accomplishment. Generally, the visual and perceptional ability of children with cerebral palsy proved to be far worse than normal children in all the areas of the visual and perceptional test. Therefore, when children have a visual and perceptional disability, they are liable to have many difficulties in daily life. While looking at any object or letters, it is difficult for them to notice differences as well as interactions and this result in problems with reading and/or writing as a result.
