국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 전환교육 모형개발을 위한 지체부자유학교 교사지각 및 요구수준을 밝히는 것이었다. 연구의 구체적인 목적은 지체부자유학교 학생의 장애특성과 전환유형, 전환교육의 요구수준과 학교의 실행수준, 전환교육의 개념적 모형에 대한 교사의 지각을 밝히는 것이었다. 자료 수집은 전국 지체부자유학교에 재직하는 모든 학급담임 교사들을 대상으로 연구자가 개발한 설문지를 이용하여 우편 조사로 이루어졌는데, 발송한 총 253매 가운데 총 215매가 회수되었으나 자료 선별과정을 통해서 최종적으로 총 173매가 분석되었다. 이 연구의 결론을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지체부자유학교 학생의 장애특성은 뇌성마비, 경직형, 사지 마비가 많으나 유치부에서 고등부로 갈수록 중복장애를 지니는 경향이 있고, 학생의 전형적인 전환유형은 치료 교육실, 복지관, 특수 유치원, 특수학교, 기술훈련기관, 보호시설, 취업, 가정 등 다양하나 학교 급별 및 입학 전·후에 따라 차이가 있다. 둘째, 지체부자유학교가 제공하는 전환교육 수준은 학생들의 요구수준에 미치지 못하고 있다. 전환교육에 대한 요구수준은 학교 급별에 차이 없이 높다. 특히 지체부자유 학생을 위한 전환교육은 기초능력과 거주 생활능력에 중점을 두어야 한다. 셋째, 지체부자유학교 전환교육 모형에는 분석, 프로그램 계획 및 운영, 결과 평가, 추수지도 단계와 학생/부모의 참여와 결정 역할, 관련기관의 협력과 지원 서비스 요소가 포함되도록 체계적으로 개발되어야 한다. 이 연구의 결론에 기초하여 장애유형과 전환유형, 학교 급별에 따라 구체적으로 적용될 수 있는 다양한 전환교육 모형 및 적용방안에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to determine the teachers perception and the needs for developing a transition education model of students in physical and multiple disability schools. To meet the purpose, the specific objectives were (1) to identify the disability characteristics of students and their transition types or patterns through schooling, (2) to measure both the needs and the actual implementation as perceived by teachers for transition education of students in physical and multiple disability schools, and (3) to determine the validity of a conceptual model for transition education of students with physical and multiple disabilities as perceived by teachers. Using the mailed questionnaire developed by the researcher collected the data. The subjects used for the study were 253 consisting of class teachers in physical and multiple disability schools. The response rate was 87%(215) but after the data screening, 173 responses were analyzed. The results of the study were as follows First, the prevalent disabilities among students in physical and multiple disability schools were cerebral palsy with spasticity and quadriplegia. Their transitional types were variety as clinic center, home, child welfare center, special school, regular school, post-secondary education, vocational training center, employment, or protection institution. Second, there was a wide gap between the needs and the actual provision by special school for transition education of students with physical and multiple disabilities. However, there was no difference among needs of transition education according the school level. Finally, a systematic approach to develop a model for transition education of students with physical and multiple disabilities should be applied. In a model for transition education, some steps and components such as analysis step, program planning and implementation step, outcome evaluation step, follow-up step, student and parent participation and decision-making component, and collaboration and support service component with the related institutions should be included. Based upon the findings of this study, some recommendations were made for further research. First, a transitional type or path of students with physical disability should be examined on the regular basis. Second, a proposed conceptual model for transition education of students with physical disabilities should be elaborated.
