『석명』 해석에 보이는 유가 철학적 인식 특징

국문 초록

본고는 『석명』에 수록된 글자 중에서 유가철학적 인식의 특징이 보이는 글자들을 대상으로 분석하고 그 의미를 찾아본 것이다. 漢朝의 신유학은 정치의 시녀로 전락하였다는 점과 도가와 법가 등 여러 사상이 혼재되었다는 점 등에서 非儒라고 비판하기도 한다. 하지만 漢朝의 유학과 사상, 문화 등은 이후 중국을 비롯한 동아시아 전반에 걸쳐 직접적인 문화적 영향을 끼쳤다는 점에서 우리는 반드시 다양한 각도에서 관심을 기울여야 하는 시기라고 생각한다. 이런 점에서 『석명』의 字釋은 그 당시 사회적 문화적 상황에 대한 작은 정보를 제공할 수 있다고 생각한다. 『석명』의 仁·誼·禮와 德에 대한 관념, 그리고 선악과 시비에 대한 유희의 해석에는 선진유학의 전통적인 유가철학적 관점과 더불어 동중서의 신유학적 관점도 함께 공존하고 있어서 동중서의 유학관이 유희가 살았던 漢朝 말기까지 널리 퍼져 있었고 영향을 끼치고 있었음을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The Shi-Ming (釋名) is a classification vocabulary book compiled by Liu Xi (劉熙. 160~?), a scholar of Chinese classics of the late Han dynasty, and is a vocabulary dictionary of Chinese Exegetics that interprets all of the listed Chinese characters using 聲訓法, which interprets title letters similar in their reading sounds. Since LiuXi (劉熙) studied Chinese classics, Shi-Ming (釋名) has its Confucian interpretation, through which I am to examine the changes compared to the perspective of 『春秋繁露(Chunqiufanlu)』, a representative book of Neo-Confucianism. By content of Shi-Ming (釋名), this study is classified into the theory of human nature and Yin-Yang and the Five Elements theory. From the perspective of human nature theory, Liu Xi (劉熙)’s interpretation of Shi-Ming (釋名) on the ideas of 仁, 誼, 禮 and 德 reflects both the view of traditional Confucianism of the Pre-Qin period (先秦) and Neo-Confucianism, indicating that the Confucian viewpoint of Dong Zhongshu (董仲舒) was widespread and influencing until the end of Han dynasty. This view has been passed on and developed since the Pre-Qin period (先秦), but it seems to have become more solid and commonplace by the time of Han dynasty.
